One Lane in Leesburg

The Town of Leesburg has begun replacing sidewalks and a retaining wall on Edwards Ferry Road between Harrison Street and Woodberry Road.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until work is completed, which is expected to be Sept. 23.

$5,000 for Rescue Squad

The Potomac Station Community Association has donated $5,000 to the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad.

"Nearly every week I see the local volunteer rescue squad or fire department in our community, and I know that we're getting the best protection possible," said association president Dave Tocki. "But with the rapid growth that we're experiencing in our town and county, we can't just simply hope that these volunteer services continue. Volunteer Rescue took the step in expanding its facilities and services to meet the county's growing demand -- we must do our part to guarantee that these services remain available to us."
