Looking for volunteer opportunities? The following organizations need volunteer help for a day, a week or on a regular basis.

The Montgomery County Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program seeks volunteers to provide counseling and companionship to victims of rape and sexual assault. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and access to transportation, and must make a 12-month commitment. A 40-hour training program over four weeks is provided. The Rosemary Hills Community School Foreign Student Program seeks volunteers to teach English to nonnative speakers, one evening a week beginning Sept. 12, at the Silver Spring International Middle School, 313 Wayne Ave. Training and teacher workbooks are provided. The Smithsonian Institution's Visitor Information and Associates' Reception Center seeks volunteer information specialists to work on the information desks in the museums or to answer public inquiry telephone lines in the Castle.
