Park-and-Ride Lot to Move

The Loudoun County park-and-ride lot in Leesburg will move Wednesday from Sycolin Road and Miller Drive to the old Barber & Ross property at 110 Catoctin Cir. SE. The county will lease space for about 365 vehicles.

Loudoun Transit commuter buses will pick up passengers at the lot weekdays starting at 5:15 a.m., with departures every 10 to 15 minutes until 9 a.m. for Rosslyn, the Pentagon, Washington and the West Falls Church metro station. The same buses will make return trips to the lot, arriving between 5 and 8 p.m.

Parking is free. Bus tickets are $6 one way or $50 for a book of 10 one-way tickets.

The park-and-ride lot will have entrances off Harrison Street and Industrial Court. Vehicles should park in designated striped spaces and along parking curb stops.

Algonkian Park Pool Closes

The main swimming pool at Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling will be closed for the rest of the season because of a broken filtration line under the pool deck and concession area.

The Downpour Water Park area of the facility was unaffected and will remain open through Labor Day weekend. Admission to Downpour Water Park will be reduced to $4 and will include a round of miniature golf.
