The 15th annual Sterling Classic Car Show will be held Sunday at Northern Virginia Community College. Gates open at 10 a.m., followed by a patriotic ceremony at 11 a.m. and an award ceremony at 4 p.m. 1000 Harry Byrd Hwy. Rain date is Monday. $3; free, 11 and younger and people with disabilities. Long before there was a Virginia Gold Cup, the Warrenton Horse Show was Fauquier County's claim to equestrian fame. The event is a Labor Day tradition and this year includes horse races and demonstrations, including ladies' sidesaddle, lead-line and walk-trot. There will also be Jack Russell terrier races. The show begins at 8 a.m. each day today through Sunday, with evening classes tomorrow through Sunday. Warrenton Horse Show grounds, Route 20 south (east Shirley Avenue). Fauquier Hospital's "Spurs and Stethoscopes" fundraising dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the show grounds. Food by Hog Wild Barbecue, music by Catfish Hodge. Wine and beer included. Casual dress.
