To Reopen in College Park

Shoppers Food Warehouse will resume business at its College Park store Sunday with a celebration that will include appearances by costumed characters. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 9 a.m.

The newly renovated store, at 4720 Cherry Hill Rd., houses a Provident Bank branch and offers international foods and natural and organic products.

To Sponsor Trade Show

Planning is underway for Showcase 2005, an annual exposition that provides an opportunity for networking among business leaders, elected officials and corporate representatives. Sponsored by the Prince George's Chamber of Commerce, this year's event is called "Soaring to New Heights." It will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 6 at Martin's Crosswinds, 7400 Greenway Center Dr., Greenbelt.

Highlights will include the Taste of Prince George's, which will feature foods prepared by local restaurants and caterers; the Excellence in Business Awards Brunch; and professional business seminars. For more information or to participate, call 301-731-5000.

Three Counties to Host

Forum for Businesses

Women and minority business owners, as well as owners of small businesses, will have a chance to meet with elected officials and minority business enterprise coordinators from Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Prince George's counties at the Tri-County Minority/Small Business Forum. The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Newton White Mansion, 2708 Enterprise Rd., Mitchellville. Participants must register by next Thursday.

Officials from the three counties are sponsoring the forum to promote upcoming procurement and contracting opportunities that will be available with Clark Construction Group, the National Harbor project, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and various government agencies.
