Runners to Watch

GIRLS

KATE CAFFREY, Atholton, Jr.: Finished 15th at the 2A state meet after placing ninth at the county championships, where her team finished second behind Centennial.

BESS SEELAUS, River Hill, Sr.: Should contend for the county title after placing seventh at the county championships, winning the 3A East Region title and taking 27th at the state meet.

ANGELI SIVARAMAN, Centennial, Jr.: Finished 16th at the 3A state meet after placing fourth at the county and the 3A East Region championships last fall.

ALISON SMITH, Atholton, Jr.: All-Met won the 2A state title in 19 minutes 38 seconds, the fastest girls' time in any of the state's four classifications.

KATIE WILLIAMS, Wilde Lake, Jr.: Took 10th at the 3A state meet after placing second at both the county championships and the 3A East Region meets.

BOYS

J.P. ALLERA, Wilde Lake, Jr.: Placed 10th at the county championships and 16th at the 3A state meet.

ANDREW REVELLE, Atholton, Jr.: Defending 2A state champion placed second at the 2A South Region meet and fourth at the county championships.

JOHN THORTON, Oakland Mills, Sr.: Placed sixth at the 1A state meet and 19th at the county championships.

DUSTIN YOURSTONE, Centennial, Sr.: Team's top returning runner placed 23rd at the county championships and 50th at the 3A state meet.

SERGIY ZUBKO, River Hill, Sr.: Defending 3A champion's top runner won the Howard County and 3A East Region title before placing fourth at the state meet.
