Huntingtown Area

ASSAULT

PLUM POINT RD., 2:04 a.m. Aug. 25. A man, 21, accused of driving under the influence was arrested. He became sick and was taken to Calvert Memorial Hospital where he struggled and kicked a deputy. He was charged with second-degree assault, driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

WALTON RD., Aug. 26. A vehicle's rear window was shattered.

Lusby Area

THEFT/BREAK-IN

RAWHIDE RD., 7 a.m. Aug. 26. Items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a garage at a residence.

VEHICLE THEFT

MEARS CREEK RD., Aug. 20. A 1995 Oldsmobile 88 was stolen from a driveway at a residence.

THEFT/BREAK-IN

INVESTMENT CT., Aug. 20. Two canopies were stolen from a storage area at Yesteryear Wicker.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

CHANEYVILLE RD., Aug. 22. Two glass doors at Northern Middle School were shattered.

Prince Frederick Area

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

FAIRGROUNDS RD., 7 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. Aug. 30. Stereo equipment was stolen from a vehicle at the Park and Ride lot.

ROUTE 2/4, 9:03 p.m. Aug. 26. Jim's Air Tools and Equipment Rentals was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

Solomons Area

ASSAULT

ROUTE 2/4., 11:31 p.m. Aug. 25. At a Burger King restaurant, a man, 42, assaulted the manager and acted disorderly. He was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Sunderland Area

THEFT/BREAK-IN

ROUTE 4, 1:08 p.m. Aug. 28. Several pieces of lawn maintenance equipment were stolen from a shed at First Lutheran Church.

THEFT/BREAK-IN

LEONARDTOWN RD., 7700 block, 3:02 a.m. Aug. 27. Money was stolen from a vending machine at the Izaak Walton League hall.

Waldorf Area

HOMICIDE

LYLES PL., Aug. 28. Three men, two 29 and one 33, killed a man, 25, in a drug dispute. The suspects put the victim's body in the back of his Honda Accord and drove away. The car and body were found Aug. 30 in Washington. The three suspects were arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault and handgun violation.

ROBBERY

GALLERY PL., 3000 block, 11:03 p.m. Aug. 28. Two 18-year-old men and two male youths, 16 and 17, robbed a man, 27, and a girl, 17, at gunpoint. They were charged with two counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, theft less than $100, second-degree assault, destruction of property less than $500 and false imprisonment.

THEFT/BREAK-IN

WILD MEADOWS ST., 11000 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 22 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 24. Lumber and a Lasco garden tub were stolen from a construction site.

VEHICLE THEFT

FESTIVAL WAY, 3000 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 23 to 9 a.m. Aug. 24. A 2005 Dodge Caravan was stolen from a U.S. Navy recruiting center.

THEFT/BREAK-IN

CHARLOTTE HALL, Aug. 28. A St. Mary's Today newspaper box was stolen from in front of Fred's Liquors.

Leonardtown Area

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

LEONARDTOWN, 3:41 a.m. Aug. 28. A man, 26, who had broken into Cafe Des Artistes restaurant was found hiding on the roof. Police also discovered the same man had broken into the restaurant Aug. 25. He was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of theft less than $500 and two counts of malicious destruction of property.

LEONARDTOWN, Aug. 22 to 24. Numerous bottles of liquor were stolen from Sis's Hideaway bar.

Lexington Park Area

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

CORONADO DR., Aug. 31. The rear window of a St. Mary's County government shed was shot out with a BB gun. Tiles were also torn from its roof.

VEHICLE THEFT

EXPLORATION DR., Aug. 25 to 26. A 2001 Honda Civic was stolen.

Mechaniscville Area

HOMICIDE

MECHANICSVILLE, Aug. 25. A man, 34, was arrested in connection with the July 1 prescription drug overdose of a woman, 32. The man was charged with second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

ASSAULT

MECHANICSVILLE, 10:53 p.m. Aug. 17. A man, 39, and a woman, 44, assaulted each other. They were charged with assault.
