The killing of a Virginia man Monday night brought the long holiday weekend's homicide toll to six in Prince George's County.
The latest killing took place about 7 p.m. in the 6200 block of Oxon Hill Road in Fort Washington, police said. Issac Young Jr., 31, of the 14000 block of Lee Highway in Gainesville was killed by a single gunshot to the upper body.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Earlier in the day, about 1 a.m., Kenneth A. Stanford, 22, was fatally shot in the 4600 block of Chelsea Way in Suitland.
On Friday, there were four slayings in the county:
Dorsey Tyler, 42, was shot about 3 p.m. in the 1500 block of Village Green Drive in Hyattsville. He later died at a hospital. The shooting appears to have stemmed from a robbery, police said.
About 4:50 p.m., Abdul G. Leftwich, 18, was shot in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Capitol Heights, police said. He died at a hospital a short time later.
Police have identified James E. Davis, 16, of no fixed address as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. He is believed to be driving an older model cream or yellow Cadillac, police said.
Another fatal shooting took place in the 1800 block of Ray Leonard Road in Hyattsville about 5:10 p.m., police said. John D. Lewis Jr. of the 1200 block of Nalley Road was shot multiple times. He died at an area hospital, police said.
About 9:55 p.m., DeAngelo Braddy, 21, of the 5200 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Hyattsville was shot in the 1500 block of Ray Road in Hyattsville, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the killings were unrelated.
