The Alexandria City Council is seeking applicants for the following vacancies on city boards, commissions and committees. The council will act on these vacancies at its Sept. 27 meeting. Applicants must complete a Personal Data Record Form and return it to the Office of Citizen Assistance in City Hall by 5 p.m. Sept. 16. Applicants must live in Alexandria. Alexandria Commission for the Arts, one member who represents the public-at-large as an arts consumer and participant. Time commitment: about nine hours a month.

Alexandria Commission on Aging, one citizen member. Time commitment: about five hours a month.

Alexandria Commission on HIV/AIDS, one member from and representing Inova Visiting Nurses Association Home Health, and one member from and representing Inova Alexandria Hospital's Department of Pastoral Services. Time commitment: about three hours a month.

Alexandria Community Services Board, one citizen member. Time commitment: about eight hours a month.

Alexandria Consumer Affairs Commission, one citizen member. Time commitment: about two hours a month.

Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association Board of Governors, a restaurant owner/manager representative. Time commitment: about five hours a month.

Alexandria Early Childhood Commission, one member at large. Time commitment: about five hours a month.

Alexandria Potomac Yard Design Advisory Committee, two members representing Potomac West Area and one representative of the residential neighborhoods and business community. Time commitment: meets at the call of the chair.

Alexandria Public Health Advisory Commission, one representative from Alexandria Community Services Board and one citizen who is not a health care professional. Time commitment: about four hours a month.

Alexandria Sister Cities Committee, three citizen members. Time commitment: about four hours a month.

Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, one citizen member. Time commitment: about two hours a month.
