ASSAULTS

WISCONSIN AND DORSET AVENUES, 10:50 p.m. Aug. 17. A gunman appeared from behind bushes in front of a Bethesda pedestrian, 21, and spoke to her. The woman saw a second man in the bushes and fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BRANDT PL., 8600 block, 12:45 p.m. Aug. 17. A man, 45, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with burglary, resisting arrest, rogue and vagabond and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

MAIDEN LANE, 6200 block, 7 a.m. Aug. 19 to 1 p.m. Aug. 20. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

SCIOTO RD., 5500 block, 8 p.m. Aug. 15 to 12:49 p.m. Aug. 18. Property was stolen from a residence.

WISCONSIN AVE., 5500 block, 6 to 6:12 a.m. Aug. 18. Property was stolen from a department store entered by force.

Germantown District

ASSAULTS

SCENERY DRIVE AND MIDDLEBROOK ROAD, 11:45 a.m. Aug. 26. As a Silver Honda Civic drove past a Germantown pedestrian, 46, the pedestrian heard six or seven apparent shots. No injuries were reported.

ROBBERIES

APPLEGRATH CT., 1 to 100 block, 1:50 a.m. Aug. 23. Three men with guns entered a residence through an unlocked door. One shot was fired, striking a male resident, 20. The gunmen demanded property from the home's occupants, who complied. As the gunmen were leaving, a male resident, 23, was shot as he tried to get to a phone. The injured residents were treated at local hospitals for wounds and released. Two Germantown occupants, a male and a female, 20, were reportedly not injured. The gunmen were recognized and an investigation was continuing.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COTTAGE GARDEN DR., 18000 block, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 23. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

PARTRIDGE WOOD DR., 19000 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 15 to 6 a.m. Aug. 16. A homeowners association headquarters was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

Gaithersburg District

ROBBERIES

MAHOGANY DR., 9800 block, 9:45 a.m. Aug. 27. A man forced to the ground a Gaithersburg woman, 25, as she was kneeling down to pick up something she dropped. He took her purse and fled. No injuries were reported.

SIDE DR. W., 1000 block, 11:10 a.m. Aug. 24. A Gaithersburg woman, 40, and a male relative, 19, argued over car keys. The man assaulted woman and took the keys.

TOWNECREST DR., 17600 block, 1:10 a.m. Aug. 28. A male demanded cash from a Gaithersburg pedestrian, who complied. The robber then attempted to take property from him, but was unsuccessful and fled.

ASSAULTS

MUDDY BRANCH RD., 400 block, 1:30 a.m. Aug. 21. A man struck a Gaithersburg man, 26, over the head with a bottle as he was getting out of his parked vehicle, then fled. The motorist was treated at a local hospital for wounds.

CYPRESS HILL WAY, 19300 block, 10 a.m. Aug. 22 to 9 a.m. Aug. 23. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

ROBBERIES

FALLS RD., 10100 block, Aug. 26. A Poolesville man, 22, was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and carrying a dangerous and deadly weapon in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

TWINBROOK PKWY., 12700 block, Aug. 21. A man accosted a Rockville pedestrian, 38, took her backpack and fled. The woman received injuries and was treated on the scene by fire-and-rescue personnel.

ATLANTIC AVE., 13100 block, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 25. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

BRAXFIELD CT., 12300 block, 2 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

CORAL GABLES DR., 1 to 5 a.m. Aug. 18. Property was stolen from a residence.

FALLS RD., 9900 block, 11:39 to 11:45 p.m. Aug. 23. A photography shop was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

KINGS RIDING WAY, 10700 block, 9:57 p.m. Aug. 22. A woman, 46, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

PARAMUS DR., 15800 block, noon to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 21. A tow truck company was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

TUCKERMAN LANE, 7800 block, 4:30 p.m. Aug. 18 to 10:04 a.m. Aug. 19. Property was stolen from the offices of an orthodontist.

ROBBERIES

BEL PRE RD., 3800 block, 10:40 p.m. Aug. 20. Three men outside a building demanded cash at knifepoint from a Silver Spring man, 39. He complied and the robbers fled.

BRADFORD AND MANCHESTER ROADS, 8:45 p.m. Aug. 23. A man demanded a purse at knifepoint from a Silver Spring pedestrian who complied and the robber fled.

CARROLL AVE., 1000 block, 10:45 p.m., Aug. 27. A gunman and man with a knife in the lobby of a building demanded property from a Gaithersburg man, 24. He complied and the robbers fled.

GEORGIA AND WAYNES AVENUES, 11:07 a.m. Aug. 29. A gunman and man with a knife demanded cash from a Silver Spring woman, 37, who had just withdrawn money from an ATM. She complied and the robbers fled in a taxicab.

GEORGIA AVE., 8700 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 27. A man to the floor a female employee, 44, grabbed two checks from her and fled. No injuries were reported. The robber was recognized and an investigation was continuing.

GEORGIA AVE., 9800 block, Aug. 23. A man, 28, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with armed robbery and second-degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

LOCKWOOD DR., 11500 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 21. A man demanded money at knifepoint from a pedestrian, 25. A second man grabbed him from behind and a third searched his pockets. After obtaining property, the robbers fled.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 15500 block, 2:57 a.m. Aug. 24. A gunman and a man with a hammer in a convenience store grabbed a clerk and demanded cash. The clerk complied and the robbers fled out the store's front door.

PINEY BRANCH ROAD AND CARROLL AVENUE, 10:39 p.m. Aug. 27. A gunman and a man with a knife demanded property from a Rockville man, 20, standing at the intersection. The man with the knife struck the Rockville man and the robbers fled with his property.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8800 block, 11:20 p.m. Aug. 27. Two men forced to the ground a Silver Spring man waiting for a bus and took property from him. A brief struggle ensued, then the robbers fled.

ASSAULTS

GEORGIA AVE., 9800 block, Aug. 24. A Hyattsville man, 39, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

QUEBEC TERR., 1000 block, 8:40 p.m. Aug. 29. Using a baseball bat, two men accosted a tow truck driver, 24, as he hooked up an illegally parked car. They broke a side window on the tow truck and struck the driver with the bat. The attackers were recognized and an investigation was continuing.

ROBBERIES

GEORGIA AVENUE AND WENDY LANE, 3:05 a.m. Aug. 27. Two gunmen demanded cash from two pedestrians, of Silver Spring and Rockville. The pedestrians complied and the robbers fled.

RANDOLPH RD., 5200 block, 7 a.m. Aug. 27. A gunman in a grocery store parking lot demanded cash from a Pennsylvania man sitting in his parked vehicle. He complied and the gunman fled.

VEIRS MILL RD., 11200 block, 8:25 p.m. Aug. 20. Three men accosted two Wheaton men, ages 20 and 22, forced them to the ground and took a bicycle and property from them. The 22-year-old was treated at a local hospital for injuries.

COVE LANE, 14000 block, 4 a.m. Aug. 28. A Rockville man, 25, was arrested and charged with domestic second-degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

FLETCHER PL., 500 block, 1:30 p.m. Aug. 25. A Rockville woman, 50, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault on a police officer in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

MARTINS LANE, 1100 block, 11:58 p.m. Aug. 24. A North Potomac man, 26, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

MONROE ST., 100 block, 10:30 to 10:45 p.m. Aug. 27. A Centerville man, 42, was arrested for second-degree assault on a police officer in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

HUNGERFORD DR., 600 block, 11 a.m. Aug. 17. A Gaithersburg man, 49, was arrested and charged with theft in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

LEWIS AVE., 2300 block, Aug. 26. A Silver Spring man, 22, was arrested and charged with theft in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

WASHINGTON ST. N., 1 to 100 block, 5:45 p.m. Aug. 28. A cell phone was stolen from a restaurant.

WESTMORE RD., 7300 block, 12:01 to 8 a.m. Aug. 25. A TV was stolen from a commercial business entered through a back window.

WINDY KNOLL CT., 3000 block, 1:30 p.m. Aug. 23. An attempt was made to enter a residence by breaking a sliding glass back door. Nothing was reported missing.

EASTERN AVE., 6700 block, 9:50 a.m. Aug. 28. A man entered a property by forcing open a window and set off an alarm. A man was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, destruction of property, resisting arrest, theft and possession of stolen property.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1100 block, 9:25 a.m. Aug. 29. A man was issued a criminal citation charging him with theft under $100 in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.
