ASSAULTS

BREEZEWOOD DR., 6200 block, 3:59 p.m. Aug. 24. Seven to 10 boys accosted a boy from behind as he walked from school. The boy was forced to the ground, hit and kicked several times. The assailants fled when a person intervened on behalf of the boy, who was taken home.

ROBBERIES

CHERRYWOOD LANE, 5800 block, 9:58 p.m. Aug. 20. Two men accosted a male pedestrian from behind, then struck him in the back of the neck with a metal object and robbed him. A 19-year-old Greenbelt man was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery and a 20-year-old Lanham man was arrested and charged with concealed deadly weapon, possession of drugs and theft over $500.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BREEZEWOOD CT., 6000 block, Aug. 24. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

BREEZEWOOD TERR., 9000 block, 12:54 p.m. Aug. 25. A shoebox containing cash and other property were stolen from an apartment.

CAPITOL DR., 6500 block, Aug. 24. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

CHERRYWOOD LANE, 5500 block, Aug. 24. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

EDMONSTON CT., 9100 block, Aug. 21. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

LAKECREST DR., 8000 block, Aug. 24. A blue 1994 Nissan Maxima was stolen.

MANDAN RD., 7500 block, Aug. 24. A 1998 Mercury Sable, reported stolen Aug. 15 from the above location, was recovered in Hyattsville by Prince George's County Police.

SPRINGHILL DR., 6000 block, Aug. 18. A 2003 Jeep Liberty, reported stolen from the above location, was recovered Aug. 22 from a towing company in Temple Hills by Prince George's County Police.

WESTWAY RD., 100 block, Aug. 19. A white 1991 Ford Taurus was stolen.

VANDALISM

BREEZEWOOD TERR., 9000 block, Aug. 23. A vehicle was vandalized.

EDMONSTON CT., 9100 block, Aug. 23. Two vehicles were vandalized.

ROBBERIES

AGER RD., 5800 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 21. Two people took property from a pedestrian at gunpoint.

EAST WEST HWY., 4100 block, 3:30 a.m. Aug. 21. Two people took property from a pedestrian at knifepoint.

HAMILTON ST., 3500 block, noon. Aug. 26. A person in a parking lot at a bank was robbed at gunpoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BALTIMORE AVE., 5100 block, 3 a.m. Police responded to a burglar alarm at a business and found a front door had been pried open. Nothing was reported missing.

BELCREST RD., 6500 block, 10 a.m. Aug. 22. An office was entered by force. An arrest was made.

KIRKWOOD PL., 2600 block, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25. Property was stolen from an apartment entered by force.

OGLETHORPE ST., 4400 block, Aug. 27. Cash was stolen from two vending machines in an apartment building.

33RD AVE., 5800 block, 9 a.m. Aug. 22. Cash was stolen from a residence.

37TH AVE., 5000 block, Aug. 23. An off-road bicycle was stolen from a yard at a residence.

NICHOLSON ST., 2600 block, 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 21. A 1996 Honda Accord, reported stolen from the above location, was recovered Aug. 22 by Prince George's County Police.

42ND ST., 4700 block, Aug. 2 to 24. A 2002 Acura was stolen from an automobile repair business.

VANDALISM

JAMESTOWN RD., 5800 block, Aug. 24. A street curb was spray-painted with graffiti.

LANCER PL., 3100 block, Aug. 23. A door lock of a vehicle was damaged.

OGLETHORPE ST., 4400 block, Aug. 25. Several vending machines in an apartment building were damaged.

41ST. AVE., 6100 block, 12:30 p.m. A door lock of a vehicle was damaged.

Laurel

ROBBERIES

SHILOH CT., 14600 block, 5:39 a.m. Aug. 22. A male demanded cash from a man getting into a vehicle as a male accomplice waited nearby in a green Chevrolet Suburban. The robbers then fled empty-handed in another SUV. The Suburban they left behind had been reported stolen from the 14800 block of Laurel Bowie Rd.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BALTIMORE AVE., 13600 block, Aug. 26. Power tools were stolen from a construction site.

BALTIMORE AVE., 14100 block, Aug. 16. Razors and two boxes of detergent were stolen from a supermarket.

BALTIMORE AVE., 14800 block, Aug. 22. A purse was stolen from a counter at a mall.

MILLBROOK LANE, 15600 block, Aug. 23. A beige 1988 Cadillac DeVille, reported stolen from the above location, was recovered Aug. 24.
