HOMICIDES

56TH AND EADS STREETS, 9:15 p.m. Sept. 5. Louis Hastings, 17, of the 4500 block of Douglas Street NE, was fatally shot and taken in a vehicle to Prince George's Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

HAYES ST., 3700 block, 9:12 p.m., Sept. 3. Derrick Jones, 22, of the 3700 block of Cassell Place NE, was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Prince George's Community Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:54 p.m.

LINCOLN RD., 1700 block, 10 p.m., Sept. 8. An unidentified 23-year-old male was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center and pronounced dead at 11:28 p.m.

QUARLES ST., 4500 block, 12:40 a.m. Sept. 2. James Presley Harris, 31, of the 2700 block of Langston Place SE, was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner's office and pronounced dead.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

BENNING RD., 1600 block, 3:45 p.m. Aug. 30. A male sexually assaulted a female pedestrian in an alley.

MONROE ST., 12:01 a.m. Feb. 1. A male sexually assaulted a female in a residence.

ROBBERIES

BENNING RD., 4500 block, 2:45 a.m. Aug. 26. A gunman told a male at a bus stop to lie on the ground. The victim was shot in the leg when he fled.

CENTRAL PL., 1800 block, 2:30 to 3:05 a.m. Aug. 27. A gunman forced a female driver to leave her vehicle, robbed her of property and fled.

CHANNING ST., 2100 block, 8:25 to 8:40 p.m. Aug. 27. A gunman and two male accomplices assaulted a male motorist and robbed him of his vehicle.

DOUGLAS ST., 2000 block, 11 p.m. Aug. 30. A gunman robbed a male leaving a residence of a wallet, then fled in the male's vehicle.

FENWICK ST., 2000 block, 3:50 a.m. Aug. 27. Two gunmen robbed two pedestrians of purses.

FLORIDA AVE. AND NORTH CAPITOL ST., 10:08 to 11 a.m. Aug. 27. A male assaulted a male at a bus stop and attempted to rob him, then fled when a witness intervened.

M ST., 100 block, 10 p.m. Aug. 28. A gunman and a male with a knife assaulted a male pedestrian and demanded cash. No further information was provided by police.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE., 50 block, 3:28 to 5 a.m. Aug. 27. A male assaulted a deliveryman with a bottle and attempted to rob him of food.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE., 50 block, 7 a.m. Aug. 29. A male pushed against a female at a train station and robbed her of a wallet.

MICHIGAN AVE., 100 block, 10:10 p.m. Aug. 27. A male assaulted and robbed a female pedestrian.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 6200 block, 9:44 to 10:35 p.m. Aug. 26. A male with a knife assaulted a male at a service station and demanded cash. No further information was provided by police.

RHODE ISLAND AVE., 1300 block, 5:40 p.m. Aug. 31. Two males robbed a male pedestrian of cash, bus tokens and a cell phone.

RHODE ISLAND AVE., 3000 block, 5:45 to 5:55 p.m. Aug. 30. A male robbed a female driver in a vehicle of property by reaching into a passenger window.

RIGGS RD., 220 block, 9:10 to 9:12 a.m. Aug. 27. A male robbed a restaurant of cash.

STAPLES ST., 1100 block, 3:30 a.m. Aug. 29. A male assaulted and robbed a female pedestrian after she bought a soft drink for him at a service station.

FOURTH AND BRYANT STREETS, 1:30 to 1:36 p.m. Aug. 31. A male robbed a female pedestrian of a purse containing cash, then fled in a vehicle.

NINTH ST. AND BRENTWOOD RD., 10:45 to 10:50 p.m. Aug. 26. A gunman followed an employee through a security entrance and took cash from a business.

12TH ST., 3527 block, 4 a.m. Aug. 26. A male with a hammer broke a front window of a grocery store, entered and demanded cash from an employee. The employee complied.

40TH ST., 322 block, 11:20 to 11:25 p.m. Aug. 31. A gunman demanded cash from several cashiers at a grocery store. The employees complied, and the robber fled in a vehicle.

42ND ST., 509 block, 11:25 p.m. Aug. 27. Two gunmen got out of a vehicle and robbed two pedestrians of property.

BLAINE ST., 5700 block, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 26. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a kitchen window.

C ST., 900 block, 4:22 a.m. Sept. 1. A VCR/DVD player was stolen from a residence by a male who entered the home by forcing a rear door.

FLORIDA AVE., 1-99 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 26 to 7:30 a.m. Aug. 29. Car wheels were stolen from a store entered by cutting a fence.

FRANKLIN ST., 1600 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 26 to 7:45 a.m. Aug. 27. A computer and a VCR were stolen from a residence.

COLUMBIA RD., 1600 block, 10:40 to 10:46 a.m. Aug. 26. A man sexually assaulted a female in a building. The female fled.

GEORGIA AVE., 11:45 p.m. Aug. 27 to 12:19 a.m. Aug. 28. A man sexually assaulted a female in a home.

PARK RD., 5 p.m. Aug. 24. A male teenager sexually assaulted a female in an elevator and exposed himself. When the elevator opened, the female escaped.

15TH ST., 2:30 to 2:35 a.m. Aug. 27. A man invited a female acquaintance into his apartment and tried to rape her. A man, 58, was arrested.

ROBBERIES

BELMONT RD., 2000 block, 9:40 p.m. Aug. 26. A man robbed a pedestrian and fled with another man.

CHAMPLAIN ST., 2400 block, 2:15 a.m. Aug. 30. A female robbed two people in a vehicle of a cell phone, a purse and credit cards.

CONNECTICUT AVE., 2900 block, 3:20 to 3:26 a.m. Aug. 27. A man snatched a purse from a female pedestrian.

CONNECTICUT AVE., 3500 block, 11:46 p.m. Aug. 29. Two gunmen robbed six people in a restaurant.

CONNECTICUT AVE., 4400 block, 7 to 8:15 p.m. Aug. 29. A man sat behind a female customer in a restaurant and reportedly took her purse from the back of her chair.

E ST., 800 block, 3:21 a.m. Aug. 27. A woman gave a male pedestrian a bear hug and took property from his pockets. A non-uniformed police officer tried to detain her until a uniformed unit could respond, but she hit and cut him. Property was recovered.

HAMILTON ST., 300 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 31. Two males offered to sell drugs to a 39-year-old man in a home, then kicked and robbed him at knifepoint.

HARVARD ST., 700 block, Aug. 1 to Sept. 1. A gunman and another armed person robbed two people getting into a vehicle.

HARVARD ST., 1600 block, Aug. 1 to Sept. 1. A male teenager choked a pedestrian until he lost consciousness, then robbed him. A witness chased the teenager to Girard Street before losing sight of him.

INGOMAR ST., 4200 block, 10:45 to 10:50 p.m. Aug. 30. A gunman robbed a pedestrian of a wallet, told him to lie on the ground and fled in an SUV.

IRVING ST., 1200 block, 8:47 p.m. Aug. 26. A male implied he was armed with a weapon and demanded property from two pedestrians. Another male put one of the pedestrians in a chokehold and said, "Empty your pockets." The robbers fled with property.

KALORAMA AND ONTARIO ROADS, 10:20 p.m. Aug. 29. A man robbed a pedestrian of a gold necklace and a silver watch at gunpoint.

KALORAMA RD., 1700 block, 2:25 a.m. Aug. 29. Two gunmen walked up to a car and robbed two people sitting inside of a purse, a wallet and a cell phone.

LANIER PL. AND ONTARIO RD., 1 a.m. Aug. 17 to 7 p.m. Aug. 31. A male robbed a pedestrian of a license at gunpoint and walked away with another male.

M ST., 1900 block, 11:50 a.m. Aug. 31. A man snatched a wallet from a female customer in a restaurant, then fled on foot.

M ST., 3000 block, Aug. 30. A wallet was taken from a purse held by a female waiting in line at a restaurant.

MINTWOOD PL., 1800 block, 3 a.m. Aug. 28. A man put a pedestrian in a chokehold while another male showed a box cutter and robbed the pedestrian of a wallet and a cell phone. The robbers fled through an alley. Two men, 24 and 18, were later arrested.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 1600 block, 2:49 a.m. Aug. 30. Two males approached a female pedestrian and one grabbed her purse. She screamed, and he hit her. Both males fled.

P ST., 1000 block, 3:20 to 3:25 a.m. Aug. 30. A male walked up to a car and robbed the owner. A male was arrested.

PERRY PL., 1300 block, 1:40 a.m. Aug. 27. Two females robbed two people in an alley at gunpoint.

Q ST., 800 block, 9:50 p.m. Aug. 28. A man took a taxi ride, then put an object wrapped in white cloth to the back of the driver's head, demanding cash. The driver panicked and hit the gas pedal, and the vehicle crashed into two front yards in the 1600 block of Eighth Street NW. The robber got out and fled without obtaining property.

Q ST., 2900 block, 8:35 to 8:37 p.m. Aug. 31. A man, 26, was arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred on the sidewalk.

RANDOLPH ST., 900 block, 2:25 a.m. Aug. 28. A man punched a pedestrian and forced him to the ground, taking a wallet.

VAN NESS ST., 4100 block, 10:45 to 10:46 p.m. Aug. 30. A man asked two pedestrians for directions and the time, then showed a gun and robbed them of two wallets. He forced them to the ground and fled.

SIXTH AND BRYANT STREETS, 1:30 a.m. Aug. 27. A male approached a pedestrian from behind and robbed her of property.

SIXTH ST., 1400 block, 7:40 p.m. Aug. 26. Two male teenagers got out of a car and approached two pedestrians. One teenager punched one pedestrian and demanded his shoes. The pedestrian ran away.

NINTH ST., 1900 block, 3 a.m. Aug. 29. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of two cell phones and fled on foot with two male accomplices who were riding bicycles.

11TH ST., 2300 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 26. Two male teenagers ran past a pedestrian and one snatched her purse.

11TH ST., 2300 block, 11:38 p.m. Aug. 27. A male teenager knocked down a female pedestrian and took her purse. A male was arrested.

13TH ST., 1300 block, 10:59 a.m. Aug. 28. Four males surrounded a male pedestrian in an alley. One hit the pedestrian with a gun and took property.

13TH ST., 3500 block, 1:35 p.m. Aug. 28. A man punched a female in the face as she walked out of an apartment building. He took a wallet and fled on foot through an alley.

14TH ST. AND FLORIDA AVE., 3:20 a.m. Aug. 27. A man told a female pedestrian he wanted to talk to her. When she continued to walk, he pushed her and snatched a cell phone and a necklace. He fled in vehicle.

14TH ST., 500 block, 6:10 to 6:11 p.m. Sept. 1. A wallet was taken from a male's pocket at a store.

14TH ST., 2400 block, 3:30 a.m. Aug. 26. A male handed promotional entertainment fliers to four men. As he walked back to his car in a parking area, one pulled his legs out from under him, and he was beaten and robbed of a cell phone.

14TH ST., 6300 block, 11:09 a.m. Aug. 29. A 63-year-old man opened a door for a younger man to enter a building. The younger man shoved him, sprayed substance at his face and reached into his pockets demanding money. The robber fled. No further information was provided by police.

20TH ST., 2200 block, 11:33 p.m. Aug. 29. Two males approached a cab and one demanded a bag from a passenger at gunpoint. As the passenger held out the bag to the gunman, the cabdriver quickly drove away. A gunshot was heard when the cab was a half-block away. No injuries were reported, and no property was reported taken.

23RD ST. AND WYOMING AVE., 12:25 p.m. Sept. 1. A car occupied by four people stopped next to a male pedestrian. A male in the front passenger seat leaned out and robbed the pedestrian of a wallet at gunpoint.

31ST ST., 1600 block, 11:48 to 11:59 p.m. Aug. 31. A male hit a female pedestrian on the head and knocked her down, then took a backpack, a wallet, credit cards, a checkbook and keys.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ALLISON ST., 400 block, 2 a.m. Aug. 27. A compressor was taken from a garage entered by using bolt cutters.

BUCHANAN ST., 1100 block, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 27. A TV and a camera were taken from a home.

CHAMPLAIN ST., 2500 block, midnight Aug. 28 to 10:55 a.m. Aug. 30. Cash, a safe, stamps and papers were taken from a restaurant entered by forcing front-door locks.

CRITTENDEN ST., 400 block, 1 p.m. Aug. 24 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 30. A child's bicycle was taken from a garage entered by prying a door.

EMERSON ST., 400 block, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 26. A garage-door window was smashed, a chain was cut and property was taken.

FLORIDA AVE., 200 block, 1 to 9 a.m. Aug. 29. Tools were taken from a home entered by removing a lock from a front door.

GEORGIA AVE., 3600 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 26 to 8 a.m. Aug. 27. Copper piping was taken from a construction site entered by forcing a rear basement door.

HAWTHORNE ST., 3100 block, 11:50 p.m. Aug. 31. A man, 23, used a hammer to break a front door of a female acquaintance's home during an argument. He entered, destroyed property and fled.

I ST., 1400 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 26 to 9:10 a.m. Aug. 29. A building was entered and property was taken from an unlocked closet and an unlocked office. A door lock was broken at another office suite, which was not entered.

K ST., 1-99 block, 8 a.m. Aug. 29. Property was taken from a home entered by damaging a front door.

K ST., 2400 block, 12:15 to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 27. A laptop computer was taken from an apartment.

L ST., 1900 block, 6:40 to 6:55 a.m. Aug. 26. A man broke a lock on a front door of a liquor store, then entered and filled a plastic bag with liquor, cigarettes, cash and phone cards.

NEBRASKA AVE., 5300 block, 10:53 a.m. Sept. 1. A man pried open a front door of a home and entered. A resident locked herself in a basement room and called 911. The man fled.

NEWARK ST., 3100 block, 5:01 to 5:03 a.m. Sept. 1. A rear deck window of a home was opened, and a package was opened. Nothing was reported stolen.

P ST., 3300 block, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 26. A laptop computer and a digital camera were taken from a home.

P ST., 3400 block, 6 to 6:15 a.m. Aug. 27. Two laptop computers and an electronic music player were taken from a home.

PARK RD., 1000 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 25 to 8 a.m. Aug. 26. An air compressor, two circular saws, two nail guns, two plumbing wrenches and a drill were taken from a home entered by prying a basement door.

PEABODY ST., 1300 block, 10:30 to 10:36 a.m. Aug. 28. A 27-year-old man knocked on a female acquaintance's door. When she refused to open, he forced his way inside, then punched her and hit her with a dustpan.

PROSPECT ST., 3200 block, 1:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 30. A laptop computer, an electronic music player and a digital camera were taken from a home entered by smashing a glass pane in a back door.

PROSPECT ST., 3300 block, 2:30 p.m. Aug. 27 to 10 a.m. Aug. 29. A specialty store was entered by breaking a front window. Nothing was reported stolen.

Q ST., 1400 block, 7:03 p.m. Aug. 27. A man entered a home, and a resident confronted him. After a struggle, the resident was pushed down stairs. A man was arrested.

R ST., 1400 block, 5:15 p.m. Aug. 29 to 10 a.m. Aug. 30. A computer monitor was taken from a building.

R ST., 1800 block, 9:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29. A laptop computer and a bicycle were taken from a restaurant entered by forcing a front door.

S ST., 1700 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 27 to 1 p.m. Aug. 28. A clock, a TV/VCR unit, computers and a cordless phone were taken from a home entered by forcing a front window.

WEBSTER ST., 800 block, 8:05 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 27. A man and a boy followed someone into a house looking for money to steal. They took cash from another person at gunpoint and fled.

WISCONSIN AVE., 2600 block, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 25. A deadbolt was forced off a front door in an unsuccessful attempt to enter a home.

13TH ST., 5400 block, 5:50 a.m. Aug. 27. A DVD player, DVDs, a cordless phone, bottles of rum and video games were taken from a home. The robber fled when he or she saw a resident.

15TH ST., 1800 block, 8:35 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 29. A duffle bag and clothes were taken from a home entered by prying a front door.

15TH ST., 2400 block, 9:30 a.m. Sept. 1. Doorknobs and table legs were taken from a home entered through a window.

15TH ST., 3000 block, 3 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 29. A purse, two credit cards, a cell phone and other property were taken from a home.

17TH ST., 1700 block, 5:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 28. A laptop computer was taken from a home entered through an unlocked door.

47TH ST., 4000 block, noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 30. A laptop computer was taken from a home entered through an unlocked front door.

HOMICIDES

18TH ST., 1600 block, 9:35 p.m., Sept. 2. Anthony Turner, 20, of the 1900 block of S Street SE, was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center and pronounced dead at 11:51 p.m.

PENNSYLVANIA AVE., 2500 block, 11:15 a.m. Sept. 3. Investigating a report about tampering with an auto, police took Warren Burnett, 50, of no fixed address, into custody. He was arrested on charges of tampering with the vehicle. After he complained of a head injury received before police arrived, Burnett was taken to Howard University Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 2:32 a.m. Sept. 7. The death was due to blunt force trauma, police said.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

LANGSTON PL., 2700 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 28. A male sexually assaulted a female pedestrian.

ROBBERIES

ALABAMA AVE., 1200 block, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 25. Two males attempted to rob a male pedestrian of a jacket. The pedestrian resisted, and the robbers fled.

B ST., 5200 block, 11 a.m. Aug. 25. A male with a knife robbed two pedestrian of cash.

BARNABY ST., 700 block, 10:30 to 10:35 p.m. Aug. 27. Four males entered a vehicle, assaulted the male driver, forced him from the vehicle and fled in it.

BENNING RD., 5000 block, 11:15 to 11:20 p.m. Aug. 29. A gunman ordered a female driver to get out of her vehicle. The driver complied, and the robber fled in it with two male accomplices. The vehicle was recovered the next day in the 4300 block of Ponds Street NE.

BOWEN RD., 2600 block, 1:20 to 1:25 a.m. Aug. 27. A male assaulted a female pedestrian and robbed her of tennis shoes, then fled in a vehicle.

FORT DUPONT ST., 4222 block, 3 to 3:15 a.m. Aug. 28. A gunman robbed a female pedestrian of a purse containing credit cards and fled in a vehicle.

KNOX PL., 2900 block, 12:55 to 12:58 a.m. Aug. 31. A gunman got out of a vehicle, shot a pedestrian, robbed the person of property and fled in the vehicle with a male accomplice.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE., 2652 block, 2:30 to 2:32 p.m. Aug. 26. A female robbed a deliveryman of cash.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE., 3011 block, 11:30 to 11:35 p.m. Aug. 28. A gunman and a male accomplice assaulted a male at a service station and robbed him of keys, a wallet and a cell phone.

MINNESOTA AVE., 1800 block, 7 to 7:05 p.m. Aug. 26. A male assaulted a female at a bus stop and robbed her of a wallet.

PENNSYLVANIA AVE., 1400 block, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25. A male cyclist robbed a pedestrian of a wallet containing cash and a bank card.

SOUTH CAROLINA AVE., 300 block, 6 a.m. Aug. 31. A male attempted to rob a female driver entering her vehicle by grabbing a door. The female closed the door on his hand, and the robber pleaded, "I won't take your car if you open the door." The driver complied, and the robber fled.

SECOND ST. AND DUDDINGTON PL., 2:30 a.m. Aug. 31. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of cash.

FOURTH ST., 4400 block, 10 to 10:05 a.m. Aug. 27. A male assaulted a male cabdriver and robbed him of cash.

SEVENTH ST., 700 block, 6:20 a.m. Aug. 21. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of cash and a paycheck.

13TH AND I STREETS, 5:15 to 5:25 a.m. Aug. 30. A gunman and a male accomplice forced a male driver from a vehicle, robbed him of property and fled in the vehicle.

15TH ST., 700 block, 4 to 4:10 p.m. Sept. 1. A male robbed a female at a residence of property.

16TH AND V STREETS, 12:45 a.m. Aug. 26. A gunman ordered a driver to get out of a vehicle. The driver complied, and the robber fled in the vehicle.

28TH ST., 2800 block, 1:30 a.m. July 3. A male assaulted a female acquaintance at a residence and robbed her of a bank card.

ANACOSTIA RD., 300 block, 10 a.m. Aug. 31 to 2 p.m. Sept. 1. A jukebox and a wallet containing credit cards were stolen from an apartment by a female.

C ST., 1529 block, 5 to 5:10 p.m. Aug. 14. Property was stolen from a residence.

DEXTER TERR., 1300 block, 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 31. A stereo was stolen from a residence entered by removing an air conditioner from a window.

E ST., 5219 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 30 to 11 a.m. Aug. 31. Doors were stolen from a construction site entered through a broken window.

JASPER ST., 2600 block, 8:05 p.m. Aug. 29 to 6:57 a.m. Aug. 30. Cash was stolen from a laundry machine in a laundry area.

JASPER ST., 2700 block, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 27. Cash was stolen from a laundry machine in a laundry area.

KNOX PL., 2900 block, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23 to 10 a.m. Aug. 28. A computer was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

LIVINGSTON RD., 4500 block, 6:45 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Aug. 26. An apartment was entered by forcing a kitchen window and ransacked.

MILWAUKEE PL., 600 block, 11 a.m. Aug. 28. DVDs and a VCR were stolen from a residence by a male who entered the home with a key.

NASH ST., 4200 block, 7:50 a.m. to 6:50 p.m. Sept. 1. A male entered a home through a side window and took a TV and a computer.

SAVANNAH ST., 1900 block, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 31. Sewing machines were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

SHIPLEY TERR., 2800 block, 4:55 to 9:55 p.m. Aug. 31. Video games were stolen from a residence entered by breaking glass in a rear door.

SOUTHERN AVE., 2900 block, 3 to 3:05 p.m. Aug. 27. Cash was stolen from a person sleeping in an apartment by two males who entered the home by forcing a front door.

SECOND ST., 200 block, 2 to 2:05 a.m. Aug. 28. An office building was entered by smashing a basement window.

THIRD ST., 4300 block, 3 p.m. Aug. 20 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25. A TV was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front window.

SIXTH ST., 3600 block, 1 to 1:30 a.m. Aug. 28. A woman entered a residence by kicking a door and assaulted two people. A woman, 28, was arrested.

12TH ST., 300 block, 9 a.m. Aug. 31. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a side window.

IVANHOE ST., 100 block, 12:45 to 1:13 p.m. Aug. 28. A purse was snatched from a female pedestrian.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE., 4600 block, 3:55 p.m. Aug. 30. A man snatched cash from a male customer in a market and fled with the money and beer.

FORRESTER ST., 1-99 block, 12:10 p.m. Aug. 25 to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 31. A laptop computer was taken from a home entered by forcing a rear door.

FORRESTER ST., 100 block, 1:50 to 4:10 p.m. Aug. 26. DVDs were taken from a home.

I ST., 200 block, 5:45 p.m. Aug. 14 to 11:50 p.m. Aug. 28. A resident gave a key to her home to an acquaintance so the acquaintance could take care of her pet while she was on vacation. When she returned, her pet was dead and property had been stolen. The building owner told her the pet sitter had been living there while the resident was away.

FIRST ST., 4700 block, 3 p.m. Aug. 14 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21. A crystal chandelier was taken from a home entered by prying wire from a basement door.
