Highlights: In their first match of the fall WAGS season, Kristina Humm and Rebecca Leopold scored, and Lauren Enriquez and Tori Lentz provided assists. Betsie Last had a stellar game on defense in support of goalie Ashley Meredith, who recorded the shutout.

U-14 Boys

SAC Columbia United Premier 2, Annandale Red Devils 2; SAC Columbia United Premier 2, Damascus Panthers 1.

Highlights: In the opening game of its NCSL league season, Connor Cortes scored both goals for Columbia against Annandale. Jon Talbot and Brian Alvarez had assists. Cortes had one save in goal. Against Damascus, Alvarez and Cortes scored.

Columbia also won two preseason tournaments: the Crofton Shootout and the Olney Tournament at Crofton. In the Crofton Shootout, Columbia defeated the Calvert Falcons, 3-0; the Broadneck Eagles, 6-0; and, in the title game, the Calvert Falcons, 6-0. Alvarez, Zack Novia, David Lucas, Cortes, Kevin Sullivan, Devon Gluck and Aidan Hoolachan scored during the tournament; and Lucas, Talbot, Tony Riso, Parker Reilly, Cortes and Novia were among those with assists.

In the Olney Tournament, Columbia tied the Olney Arsenal, 0-0, and defeated Team America, 3-0, and FC Buck Dynamos, 7-1. In the championship game, Columbia bested Bethesda Ajax, 3-1.

Talbot (6), Lucas (2), Alvarez (2), Riso, Spencer Tarason and Cortes scored in the tournament.
