Gun Store Burglary Montgomery County detectives are investigating the burglary this week of a gun store in Kensington.

Police said the burglary occurred early Monday at Potomac Trading Collectibles and Antique Guns at 3610 University Blvd. West. A 1992 Chevrolet Astro stolen from a nearby business was crashed into a window for access.

The burglar or burglars smashed open two display cases and stole two guns.

Ex-School Secretary Charged A former Howard County school secretary has been charged with stealing nearly $10,000 from Folly Quarter Middle School in Ellicott City, county police said yesterday.

Ethel Collette Kirk, 51, of 8312 Mary Lee Lane in Laurel was charged with theft, embezzlement, counterfeiting and fraud.

Police said they were contacted in July by school authorities who reported bookkeeping irregularities at the school. They said Kirk resigned in June.

Investigators said they discovered that starting in May 2003, checks were written from a school fund to "cash," the principal's signature was forged on them and they were cashed. The expenditures were recorded as payments to vendors or fictional companies, police said.

Wendy's Robberies Prince George's County Police are seeking help identifying someone responsible for several armed robberies of Wendy's restaurants in recent weeks.

Police said in each incident, someone robbed a store employee leaving to deposit money. Investigators said they believe the robberies are linked:

* Aug. 6, 9:30 a.m., 9400 block of Annapolis Road.

* Aug. 24, 9:25 a.m., 6400 block of Sargent Road.

* Sept. 8, 9:50 a.m., 6800 block of New Hampshire Avenue.

* Sept. 10, 9 a.m., 10000 block of Baltimore Avenue.

Police said they suspect a black male, about 20 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 165 to 180 pounds, with a medium complexion, short hair and a neatly trimmed beard. He fled the robberies in a silver or gray box-style Jeep Cherokee with a Maryland tag containing "325M." He is considered armed and dangerous.
