The annual rite of autumn returns to Lovettsville, beginning with an Oktoberfest dinner tomorrow at the town community center and concluding Sunday with a worship service, a potluck meal and musical entertainment. Saturday is a full day with a volksmarch, art show, puppet show, musical and dancing performances, and plenty of food. Admission is free, although the Friday dinner is $7. Hours are 5:30-10 p.m. tomorrow, 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sunday. Light Street and Broad Way, Lovettsville. The community center is at 57 E. Broad Way. 540-822-5284.


NASA-JPL "Solar System Ambassadors" -- amateur space enthusiasts who introduce and explain recent discoveries in U.S. space research to the public. At dark, people can take a sky tour with Sean O'Brien of the Smithsonian Albert Einstein Planetarium and the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club. Sunset- 11 p.m. Saturday, Sky Meadows State Park, 11012 Edmonds Lane, Delaplane. If the sky is cloudy, only the NASA-JPL program will be presented, and the park gates will close at 10 p.m. $4 per vehicle. 540-592-3556.
