SENIORS HERB WALK, for ages 55 and older, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 30. James A. Duke, herbalist and author of "The Green Pharmacy" series, guides a tour of his herb garden in Fulton, which features more than 300 medicinal plants from across the world arranged by disease. SENIORS TEA HISTORY AND WORKSHOP, for ages 55 and older, 10 a.m.-noon Oct. 11. A chance to learn about the history of tea in different cultures and sample a variety of teas, including cardamom, green and jasmine. The workshop includes hands-on tea-making using fresh herbs and refreshments of homemade jams, jellies and shortbreads. SENIORS THURMONT TRIP, for ages 55 and older, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Oct. 19. Participants travel to the Cozy Inn Restaurant for a buffet lunch; they also will get to shop and stop at an orchard. Call for bus departure points in Howard County. $25; registration required. 410-313-7279.
VIRGINIA WINE TOUR, for ages 21 and older, 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Oct. 22. A tour of the birthplace of American wine led by Yogi Barrett, executive vice president of Wine Tasters Guild International. Participants can sample award-winning wines, meet the producers, visit the award-winning Oakencroft Vineyards for a prepared box lunch, the King Family Vineyards and Michael Shaps Wines. The tour ends with a four-course dinner and wines at White Hall Vineyards.
