SEXUAL ASSAULTS

GERMANTOWN, first weeks of August. A man, 22, raped a 13-year-old girl in the basement of her residence. The man was discovered when the girl's mother turned on the basement light and found him hiding in a closet. An investigation was continuing.

ASSAULTS

GERMANTOWN, Aug. 23. A Germantown woman, 44, reported that on Aug. 12 her husband, A Germantown man, 52, assaulted and threatened to shoot a female relative, 44. The woman received injuries, reportedly not requiring treatment. An investigation was continuing.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BENT WILLOW CIR., 18800 block, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

LIBERTY MILL RD., 18900 block, 4:37 p.m. Sept. 7. A residence was broken into. Nothing was reported missing.

PALACE CIR., 11400 block, 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 4. A residence was broken into. Nothing was reported missing.

Gaithersburg District

ASSAULTS

BOOKHAM RD., 200 block, Aug. 25. A Silver Spring man, 24, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

DEER PARK RD. W., 1 to 100 block, Aug. 26. A Gaithersburg youth, 16, was arrested and charged as an adult with first- and second-degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

DEER PARK RD., 1 to 100 block, Aug. 25. A Gaithersburg man, 27, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, obstructing and hindering, and second-degree malicious burning in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

DIAMOND AVE. E., 300 block, 3:20 p.m. Sept. 2. A Germantown woman was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault, three counts of driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18400 block, Aug. 27. A Landover man, 35, was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property, and obstruction-hindering in connection with a domestic incident that occurred at the above location.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, 11:51 p.m. Aug. 24. A Montgomery Village woman, 23, was punched, kicked and bitten by a male relative after an argument. She received injuries and reportedly refused medical treatment. An investigation was continuing.

MUDDY BRANCH RD., 800 block, 7:34 p.m. Aug. 24. A Silver Spring man, 22, was punched and kicked by an acquaintance. He was treated for injuries on the scene by fire and rescue services. An investigation was continuing.

ROBBERIES

WATKINS MILL ROAD AND CRESTED IRIS DRIVE, 10 p.m. Sept. 5. A gunman and another man demanded cash from a male pedestrian, 23, of Montgomery Village. The pedestrian complied and the robbers fled with his cell phone and wallet.

APPLERIDGE RD., 10500 block, 8:10 a.m. Sept. 8. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

BADEN LOCK WAY, 7900 block, 2 to 4:20 p.m. Sept. 7. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 12200 block, 10:54 p.m. Sept. 5. An Ellicott city woman, 21, a Derwood woman, 19, and an Olney woman, 18, saw a man on the crest of a small hill next to a restaurant exposing himself and fondling himself. The women fled and called police. The man was seen leaving in a white Toyota Corolla with Maryland tags.

BALTIMORE RD., 2000 block, 10:30 a.m. Aug. 24. A person used a knife to threaten a male acquaintance, 27, of Rockville. An investigation was continuing.

TWINBROOK PKWY., 700 block, 2:30 p.m. Aug. 24. A person used a knife to threaten a male acquaintance, 21, of Rockville. An investigation was continuing.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

SILVER SPRING, 11 p.m. Sept. 1. A Silver Spring woman, 25, reported that she had been raped in her residence by an acquaintance. An investigation was continuing.

ASSAULTS

TANGLEWOOD AREA, 11 p.m. to midnight Sept. 2. A Silver Spring woman, 43, was awakened in her residence by a man holding a flashlight and standing over her. She screamed and the man struck her across the face with the flashlight. The woman's boyfriend woke up and chased the man out of the residence. The intruder fled with property. The woman was treated on the scene by fire and rescue personnel.

ROBBERIES

HEWITT AND GEORGIA AVENUES, 11:55 p.m. Sept. 2. A gunman forced a Silver Spring pedestrian, 17, behind a dumpster and demanded cash. The boy give him his cash, wallet and a cell phone, and the robber fled.

LOCKWOOD DR., 11400 block, 8 p.m. Sept. 7. Two men at a bus stop forced a Silver Spring man, 71, to the ground and demanded cash. They took money from his pockets and fled.

QUEBEC TERR., 1000 block, 2:30 p.m. Sept. 6. A gunman and a man with a knife took cash, a cell phone and a gold chain from a Silver Spring man, 26, then fled.

RAMSAY ST., 8400 block, 5:20 a.m. Sept. 4. A man asked a Silver Spring man, 24, for a ride home and he complied. Several men got into the vehicle with him. They drove to Darrow Street where the driver was punched, rendered unconscious and woke up on the street. The men fled in his 1990 Toyota Camry.

THAYER AVENUE AND FENTON STREET, 6 a.m. Sept. 4. A gunman got out of a 1990-1995 black Chevy Caprice and demanded cash from a male pedestrian, 21, of Silver Spring. The man complied and the gunman got back in the car and another man drove it away.

WAYNE AVE. E., 1 to 100 block, 7:20 p.m. Sept. 7. A gunman at the back entrance to an apartment building demanded cash from a male resident of the apartment, 42. The resident handed over some change and tried to kick the gunman. The gun went off and hit the man in both legs. He was transferred to a local hospital for injuries.

HUNGERFORD DR., 800 block, 6:30 a.m. Sept. 4. A Chevy Chase man, 37, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, attempted second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, two counts of theft and three counts of malicious destruction in connection with an incident that occurred at the above location.

KING FARM BLVD., 100 block, Aug. 27. An attempt was made to break into an apartment.

EASTRIDGE AVE., 8300 block, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Sept. 10. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked window.

LARCH AVE., 1000 block, 10:40 p.m. Sept. 11. A man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred Sept. 9 at the above location.
