Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. Eastern Avenue
The ramp from Eastern Avenue to the northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway/Route 295 near the Prince George's County-D.C. line and the northbound Kenilworth Avenue ramp to the scrap yard on the service road will be closed through 4 p.m. today. Detours will be in place.
2. Muncaster Mill Road
Northbound right lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays from Millcrest Drive to Shady Grove Road.
3. Massachusetts Avenue
Flagging operation 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Goldsboro and Onondaga roads.
4. Old Georgetown Road
Right lane closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. today through Thursday between Rockville Pike and Democracy Boulevard.
5. Capital Beltway (outer loop)
Left lane closed 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays between the Greenbelt Metro station and Baltimore Avenue.
6. Laurel Bowie Road
Right lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Laurel Fort Meade Road and Muirkirk Road.
7. Capital Beltway (inner loop)
Left lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Branch Avenue and St. Barnabas Road.
8. Capital Beltway (outer loop)
Left lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Indian Head Highway and Branch Avenue.
9. Capital Beltway (outer loop)
Two left lanes closed 9 p.m. today to 5 a.m. tomorrow from the Wilson Bridge to Route 210.
10. Capital Beltway (inner loop)
Two left lanes closed 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. tomorrow and Tuesday between Route 210 and I-295.
11. Route 1
Northbound and southbound ramps to the inner loop of the Capital Beltway closed 7 a.m. to noon Saturday.
12. Springfield interchange
Possible lane closures 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
A new bridge at the Springfield interchange will open by 10 a.m. today for motorists traveling from I-395 south to I-95 north toward the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. The new bridge is about one mile before the existing bridge and will require motorists to move into the right lanes just south of Edsall Road.
Tip of the Week
On any Ride On bus or Metrobus in Montgomery County, riders can ask the bus driver to let them off at any safe place, as determined by the driver, along their route after 9 p.m.
