THEFTS/BREAK-INS

GATE DR., 2000 block, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 21. Audio recordings were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked basement door.

HOMEWOOD RD., 2000 block, 4 p.m. Sept. 23 to 8 a.m. Sept. 24. A bicycle and sporting equipment were stolen from a residence.

WEST ST., 2000 block, 4 p.m. Sept. 23 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 24. IDs were stolen from a business entered by forcing a door.

Brooklyn Park Area

ASSAULTS

REDMOND ST., 5800 block, 7:43 p.m. Sept. 24. After a group of juveniles slashed the tires of a man's vehicle, he chased and confronted one youth several blocks away. The youth hit him in the chest, then pulled out a box-cutter type of knife, swung it and fled. The man caught the youth and suffered cuts to his face, chest, arms and hand. He was treated at a shock trauma hospital. A 15-year-old Baltimore male was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a deadly weapon, destruction of property and telephone harassment. He also had an outstanding first-degree burglary charge.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

RITCHIE HWY. S., 5900 block, 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20 to 7 a.m. Sept. 21. Property was stolen from a business entered through a door.

RITCHIE HWY., 4400 block, 2:14 a.m. Sept. 29. Two masked gunmen forced open a rear basement door at a rooming house. The gunmen went room-by-room asking for money, then forced a tenant to lead them upstairs. One intruder then pistol-whipped the homeowner and searched her bedroom for cash. They confronted several other tenants and took a wallet.

SECOND AVE., 100 block, Sept. 18 to Sept. 25. A residence was entered by forcing a door. Nothing was reported missing.

SIXTH AVE. W., 100 block, 10:18 a.m. Sept. 21. A residence was entered by forcing a rear door. Nothing was reported missing. A 39-year-old man was arrested.

SIXTH AVE. W., 100 block, 9:30 p.m. Sept. 19 to 8 a.m. Sept. 20. A radio was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked front door.

18TH AVE., 300 block, 11 a.m. Sept. 18 to 11:40 a.m. Sept. 19. Lawn equipment, a radio and tools were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked rear window.

ASSAULTS

NEW JERSEY AVENUE NE AND KENT ROAD, 6:10 p.m. Sept. 24. During an argument, a male youth pulled out a knife and another male attempted to grab it. A 14-year-old youth suffered a cut to his hand and was treated at a hospital. The first youth was charged as a juvenile with reckless endangerment and possession of a deadly weapon.

BALTIMORE ANNAPOLIS BLVD., 7700 block, 12:46 a.m. Sept. 26. A gunman with a shirt wrapped around his face demanded to enter a convenience store. A clerk refused and the gunman fled.

AIRPORT PARK RD., 800 block, 6 p.m. Sept. 20 to 7 a.m. Sept. 21. A business was entered by forcing a side door. Nothing was reported missing.

BALTIMORE ANNAPOLIS BLVD., 7400 block, 3:15 to 3:36 a.m. Sept. 21. A cash register was stolen from a business entered by breaking a front glass door.

HAMMARLEE RD., 100 block, 2 to 9:15 p.m. Sept. 21. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

HARLOW DR., 7600 block, Sept. 2 to Sept. 12. Jewelry was stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

HIGHLAND DR., 300 block, 1:40 to 4:45 p.m. Sept. 22. Clothing, jewelry and audio recordings were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a window.

HIGHLAND DR., 300 block, 11:40 p.m. Sept. 23. A residence was entered by forcing a front door. Nothing was reported missing. An 18-year-old man was arrested.

SEAGROVE RD., 700 block, 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19 to 6:30 a.m. Sept. 20. Tools and equipment were stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

SUMMIT AVE., 300 block, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 22. Cash was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked rear window.

LAUREL FORT MEADE RD., 3400 block, 2:04 a.m. Sept. 24. A male shot a Frederick man during an argument in a parking lot after a party. The gunman then ran to the rear of a building and fled in an SUV driven by another person.

HAMMONDS FERRY RD. N., 600 block, 5 p.m. Sept. 21 to 6:30 a.m. Sept. 22. Equipment was stolen from a business entered by cutting a door lock.

NURSERY RD., 700 block, 8:58 p.m. Sept. 25. A man who bought food in a fast-food restaurant indicated he was interested in working at the business and spoke to the manager. He then walked into a restroom, returned with a gun and forced the manager into the back office. The robber was then startled and fled out a side door when he heard a back door slammed shut by two fleeing employees. No injuries were reported

PATAPSCO RD., 1-100 block, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

MAGOTHY RD., 1200 block, 4:19 p.m. Sept. 24. A residence was entered by breaking a rear window. Nothing was reported missing. A 15-year-old male was arrested.

SOUTH CAROLINA AVE., 300 block, 2 p.m. Sept. 18 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21. Tools and equipment were stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

RIVA RD., 3200 block, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15. Cash was stolen from a residence. A 26-year-old woman was arrested.

Severn Area

ASSAULTS

MEADE VILLAGE CIR., 1600 block, 3:37 a.m. Sept. 25. Two men were arrested after two county police officers and a sergeant were arrested. A 21-year-old Severn man was charged with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a lawful order, hindering and obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, three counts of second-degree assault and rioting. A 22-year-old Halethorpe man was charged with disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order.

AVERILL CT., 8200 block, Sept. 17 to Sept. 20. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

DEERFIELD CT., 8200 block, 6 to 9:10 p.m. Sept. 20. Cash was stolen from a residence entered through a rear door.

FLINTLOCK CT., 8300 block, 11:30 p.m. Sept. 19 to 8 p.m. Sept. 21. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a window.

HOMICIDES

During an altercation, Tico James Smith, 24, was shot and killed in front of a residence. A 19-year-old Annapolis man turned himself into police headquarters at 6:30 p.m. that evening. He was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and felony handgun charges.

EDGEWOOD ROAD AND BREAKWATER DRIVE, Sept. 24. An L.L. Bean backpack was taken during a robbery.
