Great Boat Race

Centennial Park will host the Great Boat Race this weekend. Youths 8-15 will race model boats at the event, sponsored by the Capitol Remote Control Model Boat Club. From 5 p.m. to dusk tomorrow, the boat club will give individual lessons, and 12 youths will be chosen from the practice sessions to participate in a tournament. They will face off from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Boat club members will race from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Centennial Park, off Clarksville Pike, south entrance, Columbia. Free. 410-313-7275.

Yoga for Musicians

This workshop will teach musicians of high school age and older how to apply yoga techniques to their practices and performances. Pianists, vocalists, and string and wind players will learn body awareness, alignment, and the physiology and techniques of breathing from Melissa Lindon, co-founder of Yoga di Musica. 2-5 p.m. Saturday.
