Two men killed in a triple shooting in Riverdale Heights on Sunday night were identified yesterday by Prince George's County police, who said they are looking into whether the slayings were gang-related.
Police said the victims are Jose Cerda, 21, and Eddy Trujillo, 24, of unknown addresses. Both were pronounced dead at the scene in the 5600 block of Quintana Street. A third man was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital.
Police said they have no suspects in the case but said the homicides could be gang killings.
"We're looking into the possibility it might be gang-related," said Cpl. Diane Richardson, a police spokeswoman. "We talked to people who say it may be."
A news crew from WTTG-TV (Channel 5) was at the scene about midday yesterday reporting the story when a reporter and cameraman were threatened by young men who concealed their faces and told them to leave.
"They were threatened covering the story," said Katherine Green, vice president and news director for the station. "We don't know who threatened them."
Green declined to provide further details.
Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide unit at 301-772-4925.
