Rabid Bat at Athletic Club
MCLEAN AREA, Chain Bridge Rd., 1400 block, 8 a.m. Oct. 11. Animal control was called about a bat inside a swim and racket club. The bat was caught and taken to the county shelter, where it was euthanized. It tested positive for rabies.
Dogs Exposed to Rabid Raccoon
FORT HUNT AREA, Battery Rd., 8900 block, 7 p.m. Oct. 9. A woman called animal control after she found her hound mix and Labrador retriever playing with a dead raccoon. The raccoon tested positive for rabies. The dogs, which had updated rabies vaccinations, were given booster shots and placed under 45-day quarantine at home.

Iguana Found on Sidewalk
SAGER AVENUE AND TRAMMELL COURT, Oct. 6. Animal control was called about a large iguana sitting on a sidewalk across the street from a park. The animal was taken to the city shelter, where it was to be made available for adoption if not claimed.
