The Howard County Animal Shelter is open for pet adoptions from 1:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. other weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, except holidays. Pet Adoption Information
In recognition of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, the Animal Welfare Society presents a pet adoption program for adults and children ages 6 and older to learn about adopting pets. The event is at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Savage Branch Library, Gorman and Knights Bridge roads, Laurel. Rescued dogs will be on hand, and the society will provide tips on adopting pets. Ferret Three-Ring Championship
The Baltimore Ferret Club is sponsoring Monster Mash 2005, a three-ring championship show with four title classes, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds will help support the club's rescue and shelter program. The American Ferret Association-sanctioned event will be held at Tall Cedars Hall, 2501 Putty Hill Ave., Baltimore.
