Guiding Eyes for the Blind needs volunteers to care for Labrador retriever puppies until they are ready to be trained as guides. A commitment of 16 months is required to provide care and socialization for each puppy. Training is provided for the volunteer and the puppy. Annandale Christian Community for Action needs individuals, families, classes, organizations and businesses to adopt families at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Meals will be provided to needy families and Christmas gifts to children in those families. For more information, call Kristy Hudson at 571-203-0397.
Black Women United for Action needs a coordinator for its Chantilly family Christmas celebration for about 200 poor residents. The coordinator will solicit donations from local and national businesses, create activities for the event and organize and oversee volunteers and activities on the day of the event.
