What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Managing and directing growth is the biggest challenge affecting all facets of Stafford, including schools, public safety, traffic, recreation, environment and local economy. Citizens continue to subsidize developers who overbuild without providing the needed infrastructure to support the growth their development brings. Solving this problem includes more long-range planning by a thorough comprehensive plan rewrite. Expand impact fees paid by developers on every parcel of ground that gets developed to include school construction and recreation facilities. Secondary roads must interconnect and expand alternative transportation including FRED Bus and hiker/biker trails, to get people moving without dependence on cars."

Why should voters elect you?

"I will continue to provide leadership with integrity to manage and direct growth for excellent schools, public safety, traffic solutions and a sustainable local economy."

Occupation: President, Closet Interiors Plus Inc.

Elected offices/civic activities: Member, Stafford County Industrial Development Authority board of directors; member, board of directors,

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"The most urgent issue facing Stafford is the high rate of growth. We can utilize the tools available to the county to control the rate of growth and ensure existing residents aren't unnecessarily penalized by new development. We need to re-examine our Comprehensive Plan so it can be used as an effective road map to control growth. Because of traffic and other infrastructure challenges, a higher level of builder participation will be necessary to manage growth. The county also must end its inaction and produce a viable plan to preserve the Crow's Nest, Stafford's single largest piece of undeveloped land."

Why should voters elect you?

"I have a demonstrated ability to accomplish goals through perseverance and determination. As supervisor, I will keep my commitment to controlling growth and limiting spending."
