Education: Some college, Northern Virginia Community College.
Occupation: Maintenance engineer, Madonna House; former small business owner; former real estate agent; former engineer, Virginia National Guard, Fredericksburg Armory.
Elected offices/civic activities: Secretary and researcher, Stafford County Citizens Alliance; vice chairman, Stafford County Agricultural Commission; former member, Stormwater Utility Task Force, FAMPO Transportation Advisory Group's Environment, History, Recreation and Safety Subcommittee, Colonial Forge High School Athletic Boosters, Friends of the Rappahannock.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"The burdens of runaway residential growth are at the root of most of Stafford County's problems. Because we subsidize new residential
development, we get much more than our natural share of growth. That means spiraling tax rates, overflowing classrooms, clogged roads, environmental ruin and even social decline. Why put up with it? As your supervisor, I won't! We must stop this cancerous freeloading that is destroying the quality of life, and we must stop it now. There is plenty the board can do to slow growth to a manageable rate and get it to pay for itself."
Why should voters elect you?
"Because I am more attuned to their values. Unlike the incumbent, I value quality of life over the power and money of the development lobby."
