What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Local governments face a tremendous challenge delivering high-quality services to citizens, including a first-rate public education to young people, in an environment where municipalities are growing ever more dependent on residential real estate taxes to balance budgets. There are very few alternative revenue sources available to local governments that would help ease the burden homeowners face because of the recent large increases in real estate tax assessments. This fiscal problem is made even worse by the numerous unfunded mandates imposed on localities by both the state of Virginia and the federal government."
Why should voters elect you?
"I have greatly improved customer service and office efficiency. I've kept a tight rein on office expenses while delivering services with small-town attention to detail."
