Raiders Defeat Patriots

Billy Sweeney ran for 144 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries to rally Loudoun County to a 20-12 victory over Park View in a AA Dulles District game in Leesburg.

Sweeney scored on a two-yard run in the first quarter to give the Raiders the lead for good, 7-6. Kevin Hart kicked a pair of field goals, and Kevin Patterson added a 15-yard touchdown run for Loudoun County (4-5, 2-2).

Park View, which can secure the district title with a win against Broad Run on Friday, took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter on 12-yard run by tailback Deric Dudinski.

The Patriots (4-5, 3-1) scored the final points of the game on a 26-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Leizear to Raymond Mends.

Spartans Get First Win

Broad Run got its first victory of the season, 31-8 over visiting Dominion, thanks to 86 yards rushing and two touchdowns from tailback Thayer Nelson and a defense that allowed 134 yards from scrimmage.

The Spartans (1-8, 1-3 AA Dulles District) scored the first 21 points of the game. Nelson's 27-yard run gave Broad Run a 7-0 lead, tight end Mark McGlone caught a 14-yard touchdown from Ryan McNey to make it 14-0, and Alex Feemster ran 11 yards to complete the first-quarter scoring.

Nelson added a 68-yard run in the second quarter, and Andrew McDaniel kicked a 17-yard field goal before the Titans (3-6, 1-3) scored on Edris Amin's two-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Bulldogs Blank Marshall

Sophomore Jeron Gouveia had a school-record 90-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter to lead visiting Stone Bridge to a 38-0 victory over Marshall.

Gouveia's touchdown followed a 45-yard touchdown pass from Terrence Glenn to Kevan Walker for a 6-0 lead after the point after attempt failed. Gouveia had a three-yard run -- his only carry of the game -- later in the first quarter to give the Bulldogs a 21-0 lead that never was threatened.

Glenn paced Stone Bridge (8-1, 6-0 AAA Liberty District) with 135 yards and two touchdowns on 8-of-16 passing and added 39 yards rushing on five carries.

Caito Helps Falcons Soar

Fauquier got 159 yards rushing and two touchdowns from quarterback Zac Caito, and the defense recorded its first shutout of the season in a 26-0 victory over visiting Battlefield.

Caito scored on runs of 8 and 10 yards for the Falcons (4-5, 2-2 AAA Cedar Run District), who also saw a strong performance from running back Jake Preli. Preli had 92 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

Valley's Triple Threat

Kody Farr scored a touchdown three ways, and visiting Loudoun Valley rolled past Stuart, 69-6.

Farr scored on passes of 60 and 20 yards from quarterback Sam Clay, returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and ran an interception back 35 yards for his fourth score.

Loudoun Valley (8-1, 6-0 AAA National District) led 30-0 at halftime and scored 32 points in the third quarter.
