Disaster Relief Concert
Country-pop band Austin Cody and the Crossroad Connection will headline a festival concert to benefit disaster relief from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Charles County Fairgrounds. Other acts on the bill include acoustic duo Mason/Dixon, Chesapeake Bay band Deanna Dove, folk-pop performer Lisa Williams, country duo Charlie Reilly, country outfit the Silverado Band and ABBA tribute act Sara Gray. $15; children 12 and younger, $5. Class on Building Canoes
A course in which teams of participants use simple hand tools and receive guidance from expert instructors to build a 16-foot wooden canoe will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Calvert Marine Museum. The canoes will be suitable for two paddlers. Children 10 and older are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
