Twentieth-ranked Stone Bridge won the AAA Liberty District title with a 35-14 victory over visiting South Lakes on Friday night and earned a spot in the Northern Region playoffs.
The Bulldogs (9-1, 7-0), playing their first season in Class AAA, scored 21 points in the first quarter to take command. Quarterback Terrence Glenn scored on a five-yard run, running back Robert Walther scored on a one-yard run, and running back Nate Hawkins added a two-yard score.
Glenn led Stone Bridge with 156 yards passing, completing 8 of 18 throws, and ran for 36 yards on seven carries. Hawkins added 92 yards on seven carries.
Jay Branom ran for 260 yards and five touchdowns on 41 carries to lead Potomac Falls to a 35-0 victory over Dominion in the AA Dulles District season finale for both teams in Sterling.
Branom rushed for more than 200 yards for the fourth straight game. He has 11 touchdowns in that span. Potomac Falls improved to 4-6, 3-2. Dominion fell to 3-7, 1-4.
Loudoun Valley won the AAA National District title and a berth in the Northern Region playoffs by beating host Wakefield, 55-0, on Thursday.
Running back Tommy Schonder led the Vikings (9-1, 7-0 district) with 115 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries. Schonder scored on runs of 58 and 11 yards in the first quarter, then added a one-yard run to help Loudoun Valley take a 28-0 lead at halftime.
Vikings quarterback Sam Clay completed 10 of 16 passes for 115 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Fauquier ended its season with a 46-7 loss to host Osbourn on Thursday. The Falcons got their only touchdown on a 15-yard pass from quarterback Zac Caito to wide receiver Mike McCartin, who finished with 96 yards on six receptions.
The Falcons finished 4-6 overall and 2-3 in their first season in the AAA Cedar Run District.
