How River Hill Got Here: The Hawks won their first seven games before a 15-14 loss to Long Reach, then won their last two games. River Hill is making its third consecutive playoff appearance but lost in the first round in the past two years.
How Long Reach Got Here: Long Reach finished the regular season riding a school-record eight-game winning streak. The Lightning is making its third postseason appearance but has yet to win a playoff game.
River Hill RB Nick Campanaro vs. Long Reach's Defense
Campanaro has rushed for 1,172 yards and 14 touchdowns on 174 carries -- an average of 6.7 yards an attempt. Long Reach -- led by defensive end Jay Washington, linebacker Brian Taylor and safety Landon Tews -- has one of the county's top defenses. In the teams' last meeting, Long Reach held Campanaro to 122 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries in its victory. Long Reach has allowed just two players to rush for more than 100 yards this season.
Long Reach WR Darryl Webb vs. River Hill LB Greg Nowak
Two of the county's top basketball players also play major roles on the football field. Webb, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall, towered over most defenders while compiling 243 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Nowak, who is 6-foot-3, did a good job covering Webb in their last meeting, holding him to one catch for eight yards. Nowak, who also plays tight end, has 27 catches for 412 yards and six touchdowns.
