Gift Drive for Children

Annapolis Lighting is sponsoring a gift drive through Dec. 5 to benefit families affiliated with the Child and Family Services Agency in Washington, D.C. Annapolis Lighting will provide participants with the name of a child and his or her wish list. Vocal Competition

The Annapolis Opera is accepting applications for its 18th annual vocal competition. Applicants must be students or residents of Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia or the District, and between the ages of 18 and 35. Singers must prepare five contrasting arias in various languages. The entrance fee is $30.

The preliminary rounds will be held Jan. 27 and 28 and the finals Feb. 5. Cash prizes will be awarded. Applications are due by Dec. 1 and are available at or by calling 410-267-8135.

Artist Sought for Project

The Eastport Yacht Club's Lights Parade committee is seeking local artists interested in creating the 2006 Lights Parade poster. Artists will be required to show samples of their work and a concept for a new poster. Call Jo Rys before Jan. 15 at 410-216-9250.

Health Fair

The Baltimore Washington Medical Center is sponsoring a health fair from 2 to 6 p.m. tomorrow at the Community Center, 623 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park.

Leadership Workshop

The Woman's Club of Linthicum Heights holds its annual Community Leadership Workshop from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at its clubhouse, 110 N. Hammonds Ferry Rd.

Medicare Discussion
