Du Bois Business Summit
The second annual W.E.B. Du Bois Business Summit is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Martin's Crosswinds, 7400 Greenway Center Dr., Greenbelt. Kickoff for Builders Group
The Minority Building Industry Association will hold a kickoff gala to introduce itself to the business community. The gala is from 7 to 11 p.m. today at Coco Cabana restaurant, 2031A University Blvd., Hyattsville.
The association is designed to address the needs and concerns of minorities in the residential and commercial building industries in the Washington metro area. Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson, County Council Chairman Samuel H. Dean and several other council members are expected to attend. Admission is $50. Seminar on Reducing Taxes
The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will present "What You Can Do Prior to the End of the Year to Reduce Taxes" from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Chamber of Commerce office at 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel. The seminar will include information on year-end tax planning for businesses and individuals, and information on new tax law developments.
