Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. Darnestown Road
Alternating pattern with flagging operation 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between Whites Ferry Road and the Montgomery-Frederick county line.
2. Massachusetts Avenue
Flagging operation 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between Goldsboro and Onondaga roads.
3. Laurel Fort Meade Road
Right northbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between Baltimore Avenue and Eighth Street.
4. Laurel Bowie Road
Right southbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between Laurel Fort Meade and Muirkirk roads.
5. Capital Beltway (inner loop)
Right lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between Branch Avenue and Saint Barnabas Road.
6. Capital Beltway (both loops)
Lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday near Interstate 295 and Route 210.
7. Route 1
Alternating lane closures in both directions 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between Huntington Avenue and the Capital Beltway.
8. Capital Beltway (both loops)
Traffic in both directions reduced to one lane with periodic 20-minute total road closures on the outer loop through 10 a.m. Sunday; 8 p.m. Sunday through 5 a.m. Monday; and 9:30 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday, if needed. Ramps from north- and southbound Telegraph Road to the outer loop also will be closed.
9. Telegraph Road
Alternating lane closures in both directions 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between the Capital Beltway and Lenore Lane.
10. Springfield interchange
Possible lane closures 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
11. Chesapeake Bay Bridge
Lane closures Sunday through Tuesday on both spans. Updates available at www.mdtransportationauthority.com.

Tip of the Week
On Monday, Metrobus will begin three new routes -- A31, A32 and A33 -- that will serve Anacostia High School students after school. One bus on each route will leave 16th and R streets SE at 3:20 p.m.
