4 Arrested at Checkpoint

Police at a sobriety checkpoint on Route 7 near Leesburg on Saturday night arrested four people suspected of driving under the influence, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

From 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., 912 cars passed through the checkpoint on Route 7 near Hidden Gap Road. Deputies pulled over 28 vehicles to test drivers.

Paving in Purcellville

Main Street in Purcellville is scheduled for paving Monday and Tuesday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. This will be the final overlay paving of the Hatcher Avenue intersection and the Town Office parking lot, concluding the road work of the past few months.

Motorists should expect long delays while work is being done.

Bike, Pedestrian Project

A public meeting Dec. 9 will give residents a chance to question town and county officials about the Round Hill-to-Purcellville bicycle and pedestrian project.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Round Hill Center, 20 High St. Representatives from Round Hill, Loudoun County and the engineering design firm Anderson & Associates will provide an update and answer questions.
