Class Will Show Seniors

How to Shop on the Web

The Reston Community Center at Hunters Woods will hold a class Dec. 6 for seniors on how to shop online.

Benefits include avoiding traffic, parking problems and crowds and obtaining instant cost comparisons, detailed product descriptions and a variety of venues. The drawbacks, according to a news release, are credit card safety issues and having to remember online passwords and log-ons.

The class, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will discuss how to select an online store, use a credit card safely, return goods and assess a store's policies on privacy and shipping charges.

The center's Beginning Internet Explorer class is a prerequisite for the shopping class. The cost is $15 for Reston area residents, $30 for others.

The community center is at 2310 Colts Neck Rd. For more information, call 703-476-4500 or visit
