Health Group Workshops

Lanham-based Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers will present a seminar called "Business Planning for Capital Projects" and another on the Medicare Modernization Act.

The business planning seminar, for executive and financial officers, board members and operations managers, is designed to help participants plan strategically for business development, recruitment and staffing. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Sheraton Annapolis Hotel, 173 Jennifer Rd. in Annapolis. Admission is $50 for members, $95 for nonmembers.

The Medicare seminar will address the impact of the 2003 federal legislation on chronic disease management and health care disparities in community health centers. It is designed for executive and medical directors, chief medical officers, nurses, physical therapists and other health care professionals. The seminar will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Thursday at the Wyndham Baltimore, 101 West Fayette St., Baltimore. Admission is free. For more information, call 301-577-0097, Ext. 23.

Saving Money on Energy

The Baltimore-Washington Chamber of Commerce will present an information session on energy cooperatives that will explain how managers of businesses, nonprofit organizations, private schools and religious institutions can save money on electricity and natural gas. The workshop takes place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today at 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel. Admission is free. For more information, call 301-725-4000.
