Anne Arundel Community College will hold informational sessions at 6 p.m. next Thursday and 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Center for Applied Learning and Technology, Room 107, 101 College Pkwy., Arnold. "This is AACC: College 101" will be led by an admissions adviser who will focus on academic opportunities, student life, academic support, admissions and financial aid. The sessions are free. Anne Arundel Community College will host a portfolio review day from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow in Rooms 219 and 226 of the Cade Center for Fine Arts, 101 College Pkwy., Arnold. High school juniors and seniors and college transfer art students can meet with representatives of art schools and programs from around the country to obtain critiques. Portfolios can include drawings, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, photographs, finished pieces or works in progress. The Maryland Higher Education Commission is accepting applications for the Sharon Christa McAuliffe Memorial Teacher Education Award. The award is open to undergraduate students with at least 60 credit hours and to graduate students and teachers. Applicants must be Maryland residents and enroll at a Maryland college or university.
