Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. Darnestown Road
Alternating pattern with flagging operation 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Whites Ferry Road and the Montgomery-Frederick county line.
2. Route 1
Right southbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at Contee Road.
3. Laurel Fort Meade Road
Two right westbound lanes closed and two left eastbound lanes closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Baltimore Avenue and Eighth Street.
4. Laurel Bowie Road
Right southbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Laurel Fort Meade and Muirkirk roads.
5. Laurel Bowie Road
Right southbound lane closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays between Tulip Grove Drive and Gradys Walk.
6. Capital Beltway (both loops)
Lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and nighttime hours Sunday through Tuesday near Interstate 295 and Route 210.
7. Capital Beltway (inner loop)
Right lane closed 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday between Route 1 and the Wilson Bridge.
8. Telegraph Road
Alternating lane closures in both directions 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to noon Friday between the Beltway and Lenore Lane.
9. Lenore Lane
Road closed in both directions between Telegraph Road and Timothy Place. A detour will be in place.
10. Springfield interchange
Possible lane closures 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
11. Chesapeake Bay Bridge
Lane closures Monday through Saturday on both spans. Updates available at www.mdtransportationauthority.com.
12. Independence Avenue SW
Non-rush-hour lane closures in both directions between 14th and 17th streets SW through fall 2006.

Metrorail:
Numerous Metrobus routes will change effective Dec. 18. including: D.C. routes 9A, A4, D8, M6, N22, S2, S4 and W4 and Virginia routes 2A, 7C, 12E, 12F, 12C, 12D, 12L, 12R, 12S, 13B, 13F, 13G, 16A, 16B, 16D, 16J and Richmond Highway Express (REX).
