Brass Music at NVCC

The Annandale Brass will perform a holiday concert at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Ernst Community Cultural Center at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale.

The concert, presented in association with the Reunion Music Society, will feature Leroy Anderson's "A Christmas Festival," Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" and traditional songs.

Choralis in Falls Church

"A Classic Brass Christmas" will be performed by Choralis at 8 p.m. Saturday at Falls Church Presbyterian Church.

There will be a candlelight procession and carol singalong plus a special performance by the Classical Brass Quintet and Annandale High School singers.

Youth Orchestra Program

The McLean Youth Orchestra will present a holiday concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oakcrest School in McLean.

The concert will include holiday songs, music by Bach and Mozart, Barber's "Adagio for Strings" and traditional music from China performed by members of the Yellow River Arts Ensemble, a group of young Chinese-speaking immigrants.

The school is at 850 Balls Hill Rd. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2.50 for those 18 and younger and $15 for families.

'Christmas in Fairfax'

The City of Fairfax Band will present its holiday concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at Fairfax High School.

Guest host John Lyon and soprano Daisy Jackson, who performed with the band last year, take part in a program of traditional and popular holiday songs. The Alte Kameraden German band will provide music before the concert, beginning at 6 p.m.

The school is at 3500 Old Lee Hwy. Admission is free; tickets are required for guaranteed seating.
