Project Coordinator

Shilpa B. Shah, a project coordinator at the Prince George's Chamber of Commerce, has been promoted to the position of marketing and communications coordinator. Shah began working with the chamber in 2004. In her new position, she will assist with marketing aspects of chamber events by staying in contact with the media and working to keep the public informed about the chamber.

Bank, College Announce

Scholarship Program

Chevy Chase Bank will provide scholarships to Prince George's Community College students who work for the bank for at least one year through a new partnership between the bank and the school. Ronald Williams, president of Prince George's Community College and Alexander R.M. Boyle, vice chairman of the board of Chevy Chase Bank, were to sign an agreement this week establishing the partnership. The bank will make financial contributions to the Prince George's Community College Foundation for each student who is employed part time or full time at the bank. Students can receive up to $5,000 per fiscal year through this program.

Sales Tactics Workshop,

Breakfast With Senator

The Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce presents "Open Discussion of Sales Challenges," a workshop on techniques for salespeople. The session takes place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel. Admission is free for chamber members and $20 for nonmembers. The chamber will host a breakfast with state Sen. Ulysses Curie, chairman of the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee of the Maryland General Assembly, from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at the University of Maryland University College Inn and Conference Center, Chasen Room, 3501 University Blvd., E, Adelphi.
