Montgomery Sponsors

Trash, Recycling Co-Op

Six Silver Spring businesses agreed last month to share the cost of trash collection and recycling as part of a county-sponsored program to help reduce costs to businesses and increase the amount of trash that is recycled.

In addition to sharing the cost, Bell Flowers, Hertz Rental Car, Innovative Business Interiors, Plaza Art Materials and Framing, Radio Shack and Regal Paint Centers will also share recycling containers. Collection will be provided by Waste Management of Gaithersburg.

County officials say the businesses will save between $38 and $227 a month by combining their collection services.
