New MWAA Vice President
Steven Baker has been named vice president of business administration at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which operates Dulles International and Reagan National airports.
Baker worked most recently at Miami International Airport, where he was deputy aviation director. Prior to that he was deputy general manager at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Baker is succeeding Margaret E. McKeough, who was promoted last year to chief operating officer and executive vice president. He will oversee business programs including airline relations, commercial leasing, airport concessions and equal opportunity initiatives.
BWI Opens Upper Gallery
The observation gallery at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport has reopened on the upper level, complete with a children's play area that features aviation exhibits and models for climbing. The airport's previous play area was removed to make room for a food court.
Daily Flight to Mexico City
Mexicana airline has started daily nonstop service from BWI to Mexico City. The four-hour flight departs BWI at 8 a.m. and Mexico City at 5:40 p.m. on an Airbus A318, which seats 12 in executive class and 88 in the main cabin.
Travelers at BWI can get a massage while they wait for their flights. Annapolis-based Destination Relaxation has set up a booth at Pier B offering seated massages from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. A 10-minute massage costs $15.
