Three Maryland rabbis received honorary doctorates from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York last month.

Howard Gorin of Tikvat Israel in Rockville, Philip Pohl of Brookville and William D. Rudolph of Congregation Beth El in Bethesda were given the degrees for "serving the Jewish community with distinction for a quarter century or more."
