BaseballUMPIRES: Metropolitan Baseball Umpires Association begins training classes for new and returning umpires. 7 p.m. Wednesdays at High Point High School. Information: Jay O'Hare, 301-595-5337. FootballPLAYERS: The Howard County Football Technique Camp for children in grades 3-9 will be 8 a.m.-1 p.m. July 9-13 at Hammond High School in Columbia. Campers will learn offensive and defensive position techniques as well as special teams skills such as kicking, punting, kick returning, long snapping and holding. Speed training will be conducted by certified trainers. Each day concludes with non-contact, competitive games under coaches' supervision. Instructors are Howard County High School football coaches.
