HOMICIDESHOLMES RUN PKWY., 5300 block, 10:17 a.m. Feb. 10. Anna Sherman, 21, of Annandale was found dead inside a trash bin behind a building. Sherman received blunt force trauma. On Feb. 13, a Dumfries man, 26, was charged with murder.

ASSAULTSGREEN ST., 700 block, 11:20 a.m. Feb. 10. A male asked an Alexandria man, 28, for cash. When he refused, the robber showed a knife and cut the man several times during a fight. The injured man was treated at the scene by medics. ROBBERIESVAN DORN ST. S., 200 block, 8:20 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Two males grabbed a bag of an Alexandria woman, 30. When she resisted, the males fled without the bag. No injuries were reported.

VAN DORN ST. N., 400 block, 5:45 a.m. Feb. 8. A male shoved an Alexandria woman, 46, grabbed her bag and fled. No injuries were reported.

THEFTS/BREAK-INSBRADDOCK RD. W., 4700 block, 1:30 to 5:30 a.m. Feb. 12. Cash, electronic items and clothing were stolen from a residence. FORT WILLIAMS PKWY., 1-99 block, 8 p.m. Feb. 12 to 6:45 p.m. Feb. 13. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

HOWARD ST. N., 1100 block, 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Feb. 13. A silver 1998 Honda Accord, cash, jewelry and other property were stolen from a residence entered by force.

ASSAULTSLANGLEY ST. S., 2000 block, 11:48 p.m. Feb. 12. During an argument, a man struck another man with his cane and fled. The assaulted man was taken to a hospital and treated for head cuts. An Arlington man, 58, was charged with malicious wounding.

INDECENT EXPOSURESTUART ST. N., 900 block, 5:30 p.m. Feb. 11. A man outside a restaurant window exposed himself to a woman sitting inside. When she alerted a friend, the man entered a bus. ROBBERIESARLINGTON BLVD., 1500 block, 6:05 p.m. Feb. 7. A man entered a hotel, indicated he was armed with a weapon and passed a note to a clerk demanding cash. After receiving the money, the robber fled.

COLUMBIA PIKE S., 5300 block, 9:20 to 9:34 p.m. Feb. 13. A man near a bus stop grabbed a woman's purse, and after a brief struggle, fled.

KING ST., 4600 block, 4:30 p.m. Jan. 29. A man offered to repair a woman's car, then followed her to an ATM, where she withdrew money. Instead of fixing the car, the man touched the woman inappropriately and demanded the cash. The woman gave up money and drove away.

WILSON BLVD., 4600 block, 12:07 a.m. Feb. 12. A man knocked a female pedestrian to the ground, kicked her and took her backpack, then fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INSBUCHANAN ST. N., 1200 block. License plates were stolen. EDISON ST. N., 2800 block, 3:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and 4 p.m. Feb. 7. A residence under renovation was entered and damaged.

HAYES ST. S., 1100 block, 10 a.m. Feb. 6 to 3 p.m. Feb. 7. An attempt was made to enter a business by damaging a door.

KENSINGTON ST. N., 300 block, 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Feb. 7. Cash, laptop computers, an electronic device, a mountain bike and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

QUINCY ST. N., 1600 block, 7:35 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. Feb. 9. A laptop computer, a camera and jewelry were stolen from a residence.
