A cab driver drove up to a 26-year-old Rockville man who was walking from a seafood restaurant to his car at Montgomery Mall. The cabbie offered to drive the man home. The man entered the cab but then decided to drive himself home. As he exited the vehicle, the cab driver punched him and left him by a loading dock next to a movie theater. The Rockville man could not find his wallet and believes the cabbie took it from him. PARKHILL DR. E., 9300 block, 12:40 p.m. Feb. 7. A 12-year-old male pedestrian was robbed of his wallet.

The robbers fled. GEORGIA AVE., 8500 block, 9:18 p.m. Jan. 30. A 32-year-old man from Copenhagen, N.Y., was dining at a seafood restaurant with his cellphone sitting on the edge of his table. The man did not notice when a group of men walked in and passed his table, but believes that one of the men took his cellphone from the table. The men left the restaurant when the man realized that his phone was missing.
NEW HAMPSHIRE AVENUE AND POWDER MILL ROAD AREA, 3:30 a.m. Jan. 1. Five males assaulted a 22-year-old man, took his cash and fled.
PINEY BRANCH RD., 8800 block, 3:15 p.m. Jan. 2. A male wearing dreadlocks robbed a 13-year-old boy of property and fled.
STEWARD LANE, 11400 block, 11:30 p.m. Feb. 5. A 39-year-old intoxicated man woke a 35-year-old male neighbor because he wanted to drink with him. When the sleepy neighbor asked the intoxicated man to leave, he became enraged and pulled out a knife. The neighbor fled to his bedroom for safety and the older man slashed at the door. The neighbor stayed in his locked bedroom and called police. A man was arrested and charged with assault.
UNIVERSITY BLVD., 600 block, 5:44 p.m. Feb. 8. Four males outside a convenience store approached a 39-year-old man with two friends, who were then asked for cigarettes. The man said he wasn't giving out cigarettes, and one of the males grabbed a brick and threw it at him, hitting him in the head.
THEFTS/BREAK-INSBLICK DR., 600 block, noon Nov. 25 to 1:01 p.m. Jan. 11. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.
CAMERON STREET, Jan. 10. A 33-year-old male employee of a business reported that someone broke into the office building under construction overnight and stole tools.
EASTERN AVE., 7700 block, 9:25 a.m. Jan. 2. A manager of an inn found a man sawing on copper pipes of the inn's outside air-conditioning unit. The man fled in a gray older-model van with a D.C. tag.
FENWICK AVE., 1400 block, 4 p.m. Jan. 20. A 26-year-old Arlington man paid a man in a bail bonds office cash to pay a bond. The bond was reportedly never paid to the Prince George's County Corrections Department. When the Arlington man went back to the office the next day, it was closed. He talked to a business owner next door, who said he had not seen any activity at the office for several weeks.

A man grabbed his neighbor, a 16-year-old girl from Montgomery Village, by the arm and forced her to accompany him to his car. Once inside the car, he drove to the back of a parking area and started to kiss the girl and touch her inappropriately. The man was interrupted when security officers in vehicles spotted them. Security escorted the girl to her residence. GAITHERSBURG AREA, 10 a.m. Jan. 22. A 13-year-old girl reported being raped by a teenage male friend of her brother's who had come to the home. The Montgomery County police Family Crimes Division was investigating.

ROBBERIESGRANT AVE., 100 block, 9 p.m. Feb. 9. A man got out of a parked car, pulled out a handgun and ordered an adult female pedestrian to give him her purse. The woman dropped her purse on the ground. The man grabbed it and ran back to the car. He fled in a dark-colored four-door car with two other men inside. No injuries were reported. THEFTS/BREAK-INSUNIVERSITY BLVD., 1100 block, 10:46 p.m. Feb. 15. A shoplifting occurred. A man was issued a criminal citation for theft under $500.
WESTMORELAND AVE., 7000 block, 11:15 p.m. Feb. 9. Police investigated a report of a suspicious person inside a business. A man was arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a call for a suspicious person inside a business.
