Carolyn McCain, 42, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Erik Christian. In December, a jury found her guilty of aggravated assault while armed, malicious disfigurement and assault with a dangerous weapon in the March attack. The oil burned his upper torso and face.

AlexanderMONTGOMERY COUNTY1 Dead, 1 Hurt in Burtonsville CrashMontgomery County police are investigating a crash in Burtonsville on Friday night that left one person dead and another in serious condition. Dinesh Bangalore Ganganna, 41, of the 11500 block of Highland Farm Road in Potomac was turning left onto Sandy Spring Road when a Porsche driven by Osman Ahmed Khan, 22, of the 12600 block of Bear Creek Terrace in Beltsville slammed into Ganganna's sports-utility vehicle.
Ganganna was pronounced dead at the scene. Khan was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
HOWARD COUNTY3 Injured in Baseball Bat BrawlHoward County police are investigating an assault with baseball bats that left three teenagers injured, including one in critical condition with a severe head wound. The fight occurred about 1 a.m. yesterday in the 9400 block of Old Frederick Road in Ellicott City. According to police, a group of people, several armed with baseball bats, met, and a fight began.
An 18-year-old from Ellicott City was airlifted to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Two others, both 17 and from Columbia, were in serious but stable condition with head wounds.
Police did not release the names of those involved.
-- Ovetta WigginsPRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY10 Displaced in Oxon Hill FirePrince George's County firefighters rescued several residents of a three-story garden apartment complex in Oxon Hill early Saturday after a fire began on the ground floor of the building. Fire officials said a couple of residents jumped from their apartments before firefighters arrived, but no one was injured.
Ten people were displaced because of the blaze.
Chauncey Bowers, a spokesman for the fire department, said that the apartment complex at 601 Audrey Lane did not have a fire alarm system and that county inspectors are trying to determine why.
"It depends on when the building was built and what transpired since then," Bowers said. "Was it sold? Has it had renovations? It may be that it was perfectly legal."
-- Ovetta WigginsCamp Springs Man Sought in AssaultPrince George's County police are searching for a man who is accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Suitland woman Tuesday. An arrest warrant has been issued for Amando Sanchez, who is in his mid-20s, in connection with the attack. Police went to the 5200 block of Carswell Avenue in Camp Springs, where Sanchez lives, about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, but he was not there.
Police said they consider Sanchez dangerous and they think that he might try to leave the country.
