The bodies of at least a dozen apparent murder victims have been found in the Los Angeles area in a 24-hour period.

The body of a man dressed as a woman was discovered Friday in the closet of a vacant house. He was not identified.

In the San Pedro district, the body of a man, his hands tied behind him, was found at the foot of a 60-foot cliff. Police said he may have been pushed from the cliff.

Two men were found shot to death. They were identified as Richard Smith, 18, and Harry Estes, 21. Also Friday, the nude body of a young woman who was apparently raped and then beaten to death was found in a park. She was not identified.

In a fight Thursday, Maurico Perez, 19, was shot to death and two men were wounded. And Gilberto Murillo, 27, was found beaten and shot to death in the yard of an East Los Angeles House.

Three men were killed in a shootout in a parked car in Rosemead. Gary Ishihara, Samuel Rivera and Leslie Tarumotto were killed.

An unidentified man was found stabbed to death in what police said was a robbery Thursday. And the body of a park director, who had been shot, was found on a street not far from where he worked.
