A Maryland Notebook item in yesterday's Prince George's Extra misstated how state Del. Kerry Hill (D-Temple Hills) won his seat last fall. Hill ran for a House of Delegates seat vacated by C. Anthony Muse. The item also misstated who Muse ran against in the 1998 elections. He lost to incumbent Sen. Gloria G. Lawlah (D-Hillcrest Heights).

A Style article Tuesday incorrectly reported the price of a Degas pastel auctioned at Sotheby's London on Monday. "Femme Assise Devant un Piano" sold for $4.8 million.

Craig Place was described in a June 12 article about athletes at Columbine High School as the gym teacher in a class in which a Jewish boy was beaten and taunted in 1996. Place is a gym teacher, but he was not the gym teacher in that class. He was involved in responding to the complaints of the boy and his father in his capacity as a dean that year.
